GSMA's Global Mobile Awards to Recognise Mobile Innovation in the Publishing Sector

LONDON, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The GSMA has launched its prestigious 17th Annual Global Mobile Awards, which recognise excellence, achievement and innovation within the mobile communications industry, and will culminate in a presentation at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday 28th February, 2012.

New categories have been introduced to reflect developments and innovation across the entire mobile ecosystem, including applications, services, devices and technology, with a specific focus for the first time on mobile innovation in the publishing sector.

"The 'Best Mobile Innovation for Publishing' award aims to highlight the rapid evolution of the printed word to digital media, via mobile handsets and tablet devices," said Michael O'Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. "The judges will be looking for mobile publishing solutions that enable brands to easily and effectively mobilise their content and develop and launch products, whilst pushing the boundaries of accessibility and interactivity."

This award is open to digital publishing and media organisations that provide digital media and information for mobile devices and tablets.
