HONG KONG, Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ --PublicAffairsAsia is inviting industry members, the media and the public to name the political, governmental or campaigning figure engaged in Asia Pacific who is breaking new ground in their communications engagement.

The Gold Standard Award for Political Communications, which is sponsored by eBay, is the only award which recognises the communications achievements of politicians, public servants and campaigners in the region.

Commenting on this year's award, PublicAffairsAsia's Executive Director, Craig Hoy, said: "Politicians, public figures and campaigning figures in Asia Pacific, or those engaged in the region, are coming to terms with a rapidly evolving communications landscape. Stakeholders are increasingly vocal and are using a wide range of new and traditional media to communicate with their political leaderships. We will identify the figure who is rising to this communications challenge."

The award has previously been won by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who achieved a historic first in winning two elections in Indonesia, and President Aquino of the Philippines, who secured the award for his effective communication offensive against corruption.
