Thai fashion is going big. Thailand and ASEAN are stepping into the world market, and the world class fashion gurus will show visitors how, on 6 - 13 January 2012.
BANGKOK, Dec. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Thailand is getting ready to lead Thailand down the catwalk and establish itself as Southeast Asia's manufacturing, design, and export leader. The Department of Export Promotion (DEP), in the Ministry of Commerce is the driving force behind this initiative and constantly seeks out opportunities to offer fashion and leather manufacturers, importers and buyers, as well as fashionistas the chance to meet, mingle and expand the industry. The main annual platform for this is the Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2012 (BIFF & BIL 2012), which brings together the very best in fashion and leather goods from Thailand and ASEAN in a single event.
Thailand and ASEAN organise this annual event to exhibit fashion, textiles, apparel, and leather goods in over 1,000 booths, while also acting as a forum for trade negotiations between partners, both domestic and international to encourage the growth of fashion and leather industries.
The event is a massive draw for the region's major players such as China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and India, and also attracts new partners who can contribute to building Thailand and ASEAN's fashion sector and bringing it an international recognition.
And anyone can be a part of BIFF & BIL 2012 which next year celebrates its 30th anniversary. If anyone loves clothes and design, it is a great place to get the latest fashion tips and perhaps a peek at the new trends. One of 2013's highlights is a seminar to be given by a famous fashion expert, Mr. Lee Lapthorne, who created many of the fabulous shows recently seen at Paris Fashion Week. He is renowned for nurturing young designers and helping them to debut their collections on the runway. He will be letting visitors know what trends to follow and the fashions to expect for Spring and Summer 2013, on 6 January 2012. Another highlight is a world-class designer, Mr. Mikel Rosen, the mentor for many top class designers, such as John Galliano, Hussein Chalayan, the late Alexander McQueen, Giles Deacon, and Stella McCartney.
