Suzhou Is First Stop for Highly Anticipated China Shared Services & Outsourcing Shows

SINGAPORE, Jan. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Having exceeded the targets set under the 11th Five-Year Plan, China's 12th Five-Year Plan (2011 - 2015) has continued to focus on service sector contribution to its GDP. Riding on this goal, more international organisations are seeing the benefits of including China into their Shared Services strategy.

With the emphasis on greater cost savings, process standardisation and operational consolidation, China seems to be an obvious choice, but the process of mapping and launching Shared Service Centres (SSCs) into a new location is not without challenges.

The Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON) has announced a series of events in China with the first show taking place in Suzhou on 12 - 14 March 2012.  The agenda specifically addresses the issues of stakeholders from Finance & Accounting and Human Resources, who are at the early stage of their process transformation or shared services development journey.

Speaking candidly about the China factor, Sarah Ye, Asia Program Director from the SSON had this to say: "Companies cannot ignore the advantages that China offers. But just like any other critical business decisions, careful evaluation must be made. We are delighted to be working with the Suzhou Industrial Park, the host sponsor for this event, to really scrutinise the roadmaps that organisations have been using for function aligned business transformation and country-level service delivery."

With over 20 speakers confirmed from organisations such as Lenovo, GE Capital and Novartis, the show promises to be the most comprehensive gathering of shared services and outsourcing professionals. The event also moves out of the convention centre into the city itself with a site tour to some of the leading shared service & outsourcing operations in Suzhou.
