Temptations, the buffet restaurant at StarWorld Hotel that offers cuisines from around the world, now brings the authentic taste of Thailand to spice lovers in September and October. Star-rated chefs at StarWorld Hotel have selected an array of premium ingredients imported from Thailand to create incredible dishes for the "Thai Food Delights" promotion. Traditionally, Thai cuisine uses a lot of Southeast Asian seasonings, such as coconut milk, basil, lemongrass, lime and chilli, to match with colourful tropical fruits and vegetables such as eggplant and pineapple, reflecting the distinctive and authentic taste of Thailand.

Further divided into four major streams, Thai cuisine consists of Northern Thai cuisine, Northeastern Thai cuisine, Central Thai cuisine, and Southern Thai cuisine. Each stream represents its unique geographical location and dining culture. Since Thailand is surrounded by neighbouring countries, all with different culinary styles, each region and its cuisine is deeply influenced by its neighbours, especially in selection of ingredients. For example, Southern Thai cuisine is similar to the Malay cuisine, which uses a lot of coconut milk and fresh turmeric; Northeastern Thai cuisine is inspired by that of Laos, such as using lime juice for cooking. Inagiku at StarWorld Hotel, the award-winning Japanese restaurant that began in Japan more than 100 years ago, is featuring a Seasonal Chef Recommendation Matsutake menu during 1-30 September. Gourmets can enjoy this rare and star-rated ingredient with a highly affordable price to enjoy the taste of luxury. Inagiku's star-rated chef cooks the dishes with simple methods to preserve the unique aroma and essences of the Matsutake. He offers the Grilled Matsutake Mushrooms in Japanese Style, Matsutake Mushrooms Tempura and Matsutake Mushrooms Clear Soup in Tea Pot.

Matsutake Mushrooms Clear Soup in Tea Pot is made by premium Matsutake, cooked with refined soup, Japanese wine and seasonal seafood. It is presented in a delicate Japanese teapot to keep it warm. Guests are recommended to enjoy the soup with a few drops of lemon juice, to enhance the flavor and make the soup taste refreshing.

Matsutake is known for its rich nutrition, unique scent and flavour. This prestigious mushroom grows slowly in dry woodlands during autumn, and requires special care and attention at harvest time - it must be dug out from the root when it is just outcropping, otherwise, the aroma will be lost and the value will depreciate significantly. Therefore, Matsutake can only be collected in the mountains by experienced and well trained laborers. As it cannot be artificially propagated, Matsutake is regarded as a rare and luxurious cooking ingredient.

Matsutake is high in nutrition, including protein, amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids and peptides. Traditional Chinese medical science believes that Matsutake is good for strengthening the functions of human organs such as kidney and brain, and also help prevent cancer.
