2007-12-04 18:49 1011

BEIJING, Dec. 4 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Perfect World Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: PWRD) ("Perfect World" or the "Company"), a leading online game developer and operator in China, today announced that it will launch closed beta testing ("CBT") for "Chi Bi" (the "Game") on December 18, 2007. The closed beta version for "Chi Bi" will also include the highly anticipated "Three Kingdoms System" and "Motion Fighting System."

"Chi Bi" is the Company’s first MMORPG based on real history, the famous Three Kingdoms period. With Perfect World’s ability to recreate classic scenes and famous historical figures of the Three Kingdoms Period using its Angelica 3D game engine, the Company is convinced it will magnificently represent the stories of the Three Kingdoms period.

As the Company’s first online game with kingdoms, "Chi Bi" allows online game players to choose which kingdom to join. Whether it is the Kingdom of Wei, the Kingdom of Shu, or the Kingdom of Wu, the Company will provide players the full experience of real historical battles from the Three Kingdoms period. During the CBT, the complete "18 Legendary Weapon System" will also be available to provide full enjoyment of the Three Kingdoms period.

While launching the CBT for "Chi Bi," the Company expects to cooperate closely with China Film Group Corporation and "Red Cliff" production team to closely connect "Chi Bi" and "Red Cliff." The cooperation between "Chi Bi" and the movie "Red Cliff" is another example of promoting the Company’s interactive entertainment products through innovative channels.

"I am very excited about the launch of CBT for ‘Chi Bi’," said Mr. Michael Chi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World. "Ever since the Company incorporated, enhancing the development of the domestic online game industry and promoting Chinese culture through our self-developed online games has always been our vision. We believe throughout 5000 years of Chinese history, the Three Kingdoms period has its irreplaceable position both traditionally and historically. The development of ‘Chi Bi’ not only provides the full enjoyment and real charm of the Three Kingdoms period, but also demonstrates our ability to broadly promote Chinese culture with our self-developed online games. I believe December 18th will be a very memorable day for those who love the Three Kingdoms period."
