Modern Marco Polo Unveils Mysterious Hangzhou Menu from China

HANGZHOU, China, August 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As one of the world's three major cuisines, Chinese cuisine demonstrates its diversity in both tastes and recipes. On July 21 of this year, "Modern Marco Polo" unveiled the mysterious Chinese menu by sharing the cooking process for "Dragon Well Shrimp in Clouds," one of Hangzhou's famous dishes, on Hangzhou's official page on Pinterest. It was prepared by Asia's master chef Yappohweng with Chinese Dragon Well green tea as a key ingredient.

"My Chinese Menu" is the second phase of the "Modern Marco Polo - Dr. Hangzhou" global recruitment campaign launched on June 6. Foodies can learn more about Hangzhou's famous dishes, including Tea Dishes, classic Hangzhou Cuisine and Mama's Household Cuisine, on Facebook, Pinterest and other social media platforms and participate in an online food jigsaw puzzle for a free air ticket to Hangzhou.

Hangzhou's Tea Dishes with Life Attitudes
Tea Dishes, a Hangzhou specialty, is cooked with black, green, blue, white, dark green and yellow tea, including the local West Lake "Dragon Well." You are meant to feel hungry when you see the natural color of the teas. Tea Dishes reflect the Chinese preference for a balanced and uneventful life. Stories Of Classic Hangzhou Cuisine
Asia's master chef Yappohweng and China's famous chef Jin Kaiwei were invited to cook two Hangzhou dishes - Dragon Well Shrimp in Clouds and Crab soup with Orange - voted by Facebook users who followed the "Hangzhou,China" page.
