BEIJING, Feb. 13 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- VisionChina Media Inc. (Nasdaq: VISN), one of China’s largest out-of home digital television advertising networks on mass transportation systems, today announced the signing of an exclusive agency agreement with Shanxi Da Zhong Mobile Television Co., Ltd. ("Shanxi Da Zhong").

The agreement grants VisionChina Media the exclusive right to operate mobile television advertising on all public buses covered by the Shanxi Da Zhong network in the city of Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi province, for 8 years beginning February 3, 2008. Beginning operations in April 2005, Shanxi Da Zhong has the exclusive license to operate a mobile television network in Taiyuan and has achieved a penetration rate on public buses of over 80%. Signing this agreement enables VisionChina to expand its existing national mobile television advertising network on buses from 14 to 15 cities.

"Entering the Taiyuan market is an important strategic milestone for VisionChina," said Mr. Limin Li, VisionChina Media’s chairman and chief executive officer. "Taiyuan is one of the most popular cities for blue-chip advertisers in China and this agreement greatly improves the depth and coverage of our network in northern China, which already includes buses and subways in China’s capital, Beijing."

Ms. Dina Liu, VisionChina Media’s chief financial officer commented, "Our sales network’s successful track record of attracting nationwide advertisers to second-tier cities, combined with our leading operational capabilities enabled us to win this important contract over our competition. The addition of Taiyuan significantly increases our revenue capacities in northern China. "

According to the Taiyuan Bureau of Statistics, Taiyuan’s GDP reached RMB101.3 billion, approximately US$14.08 billion, in 2006 and the city has a population of 3.44 million. According to the Shanxi government’s official website, the urban area of Taiyuan City is 1,460 square kilometers.
