NUSAJAYA, Johor, Malaysia, April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost & Sullivan celebrated its 10th annual Malaysia Excellence Awards on 15 April 2014 at Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour in Johor, presenting a total of 48 awards to the best and brightest companies in Malaysia.

First founded in 2005, the Malaysia Awards program began as the Malaysia Telecoms Awards, which focused on showcasing outstanding IT and Telecommunications companies in the Malaysian market. In 2010, the Awards program was expanded to the Malaysia Excellence Awards, to also include other prominent companies in Malaysia from other sectors.

Now in its tenth consecutive year, the 2014 Malaysia Excellence Awards aims to recognize Malaysian companies and individuals that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development.

"We are extremely proud to host the 10th Annual Malaysia Excellences Awards this year. Looking back, it is delightful to see how much this awards program has grown and how far we've come. We are grateful for the support and interest the industry has shown for the Malaysia Excellence Awards," said Hazmi Yusof, Country Head, Frost & Sullivan Malaysia.

He added, "The Malaysia Excellence Awards play an important role recognizing those who are driving innovation and achieving best practices across various industries in the Malaysian market. We hope this awards program will continue to spur these industries forward."

The 2014 Malaysia Excellence Awards recognized best practices and outstanding performance by Malaysian companies in different sectors such as automation & electronics, automotive, chemicals, energy, environment & building, food, healthcare, information & communication technologies and logistics.

Award recipients were identified based on in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan's analysts. Companies are typically studied on their revenues, market share, capabilities, and overall contribution to the industry in order to identify best practices.

The findings of the detailed evaluation will then be presented to a panel of independent judges comprising influential personalities and leaders in Malaysia, to decide the recipient for each category. The list of judges can be found at http://malaysia-awards.com/pastjudges.shtml
