World's First Real-Time Mobile App for Operational Solar Power Plant

HONG KONG, May 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- China Merchants New Energy Group Limited ["CMNE" or "the Group", the largest shareholder of United Photovoltaics Group Limited "United PV" (00686.HK)], today announced the pre-launch test of its mobile application ("app") -- EBOD, which is the world's first mobile app of real-time operational solar power plants. Effective from its test launch at 5:00pm Hong Kong time on May 30, EBOD aims to provide the latest information of solar power plants.

EBOD is the Group's first mobile app with cross-sector collaboration, after the first cross-industry collaboration of the PV-internet financing strategy announced by United PV under the Group in February 2014. The app allows users to view pictures of solar power plants and solar-generated electricity volume, as well as to receive the latest industry information, via iPhone and Android devices anytime and anywhere. There are multi language versions, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional and English. EBOD provides four major sections, including news, station, investment and discover. Amongst them, the station section introduces a total of 16 solar power plants across 7 provinces displaying on the map with detailed description. Furthermore, for the solar power plant in Qianhai, Shenzhen, users can view panoramic photos and real-time monitoring, current and historical figures of solar-generated electricity, and total savings of coal equivalent, etc. The pre-launch test of EBOD is aimed to generate user feedbacks to further fine-tune the content and optimize the user experience. In the future, EBOD will welcome world-wide premium solar power plants to join the platform, sharing their operational data to the public.

Commissioned by the Group, Beyond Rainbow Investments Limited ("Beyond Rainbow") spent 6 months on research and development of EBOD, in which the information is authorized by the subsidiaries under CMNE including United PV and Renewable Energy Trade Board.

In addition, United PV under the Group also launched today an investor relations subscription account on the WeChat platform for investors to access pushed mobile real-time information, strengthening the interaction with investors. Investors can follow the WeChat subscription account.

Mr. Alan LI, Chief Executive Officer of CMNE, said, "The Chinese name of the app conveys the meaning of environmental protection and the faith and persistence in it. After United PV became the industry's first listed company to announce its quarterly solar-generated electricity volume, the pre-launch test of EBOD is another initiative of the Group to strengthen information disclosure and tighten the connection among the public, investors and other stakeholders.
