Indonesia's modest fashion through synergy and collaboration.

IN2MOTIONFEST 2025, officially opened by the Governor of Bank Indonesia, 
Perry Warjiyo, carried the theme "One Vision, One Movement: Advancing Indonesia 
Modest Fashion Through Synergy & Collaboration", emphasizing collective action, 
cross-sector collaboration, and synergy among industry players to enable
Indonesia's modest fashion to dominate the domestic market and compete globally.

This annual event serves as a driving platform for Indonesia's modest fashion 
ecosystem by enhancing product capacity and quality, promoting brands, and 
expanding into global markets.

IN2MOTIONFEST remains committed to optimizing the use of Indonesia's rich 
cultural diversity andwastra (traditional textiles) in sustainable modest 
fashion products. This approach aligns with the implementation of a green 
economy within the Indonesian modest fashion industry, positioning it as a 
strong player in the global market.

A wide variety of wastra from across Indonesia—including batik, songket, ikat 
weaving, ATBM (non-machine weaving), lurik, tapis, sasirangan, jumputan 
(tie-dye), embroidery, knits, and eco-print—were showcased in diverse modest 
fashion styles. These pieces were designed by members ofIKRA (Indonesia Sharia 
Creative Industry), fashion brands, MSMEs (micro, small, and medium 
enterprises), and fashion school students, and were among the highlights of 
IN2MOTIONFEST 2025.

IN2MOTIONFEST 2025 featured an international-standard fashion show and trade 
exhibition, presenting 1,785 modest fashion collections from 214 designers and 
brands, both local and international, along with 100 wastra artisans 
participating in theWastra Business Matching program. This year, IN2MOTIONFEST 
collaborated with11 international designers from Thailand, Bangladesh, the 
Philippines, Malaysia, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Australia, and Dubai.

annual IN2MF event, showcasing Indonesia's growing modest fashion ecosystem and 
supporting the vision of an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Sharia 
economy.

Organized by Bank of Indonesia, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium 
Enterprises (MSMEs), and Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC), IN2MF 2024 was one 
of the highlights of Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF), 2024. The 
festival aimed to integrateIndonesia's modest fashion ecosystem and promote a 
sustainable, resilient sharia economy.

Carrying the theme "Elevating Sustainable Modest Fashion to The Global 
Stage", IN2MF 2024 emphasized sustainability, innovation, and inspired by the 
use of traditional Indonesian textiles. The event showcased batik, songket, 
ikat, ATBM weaving, and eco-friendly materials celebratingIndonesia's rich 
cultural heritage. In addition to 208 Indonesian designers, the festival also 
featured 10 international designers fromMalaysia, South Africa, Australia, India
,Italy, Russia, Turkey, Spain, the UAE, and Jordan, underscoring the global 
appeal of modest fashion.

A major highlight of the event was the Business Matching Traditional Textiles 
program, which connected designers with artisans, fostering collaboration and 
creating new business opportunities. Additionally, a series of seminars and 
Focus Discussion Groups (FGDs) explored important themes in modest fashion, 
including innovation, sustainability, trend forecasting, and the challenges in 
modest fashion business.  These initiatives were designed to further strengthen 
the industry and promote growth through meet, knowledge-sharing and 
collaboration.

In terms of business impact, IN2MF 2024 proved successful, with total 
commitments, sales, and financing reaching72.9 billion Rupiah. This includes 
business matching and collaborations with key partners. When factoring in 
global initiatives in markets such asAbu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, and 
Paris leading up to the festival, the total value generated reached to 258.7 
billion Rupiah.

A World of Wastra

The five-day festival of modest fashion began with a display of colours from 
Ready-to-Wear Deluxe, Street Wear, Syari Evening Wear, Cocktail Wear, and 
Office Wear. The ISEF opening ceremony followed by the inauguration of 
IN2MOTIONFEST 2022 on6th October 2022 was attended by Governor of Bank 
Indonesia Perry Warjiyo, and Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic 
of Indonesia Teten Masduki.

"Indonesia's inaugural global modest fashion festival has been a huge 
success. It is expected to become the biggest international modest fashion 
festival. This can be done through strengthening the branding ofIndonesia's 
modest fashion, increasing capacity and network between domestic and global 
business actors. We'll continue to nurtureIndonesia's cultural heritage and 
share it with the world," said Warjiyo.

Attendees can witness a total of 1,256 looks of wastra Nusantara from various 
designers such as Dian Pelangi, Itang Yunasz, Khanaan, Laudya Chintya Bella, 
Syahrir Nurdin fromMalaysia, Yod Koko from Thailand, A3 from France X Emmy 
Thee, etc. 

The word wastra derives from Sanskrit and means "hand-crafted textile". Wastra
 is full of cultural and historical meanings and is appreciated worldwide for 
its beauty. Most are made by skilled artisans who have perfected their trade 
through the generations by adapting ancient skills.

"Wastra from Sabang to Merauke, such as Songket, Ikat, Lurik and Batik, have 
been the highlights of this year's festival. It is amazing to share our 
cultural heritage with the world and see the same joy we feel when seeing these 
amazing fabrics," said Ali Charisma, National Chairman of the IFC.

2022 Theme: "Local Products, Global Look"

IN2MOTIONFEST welcomes more than 160 local and international designers, 
brands, academies, and buyers to celebrate the unique designs, locally sourced 
materials and trending looks in the multi-billion-dollar modest fashion 
industry.

Ita Rulina, Director of the Department of Economics and Sharia Finance of BI, 
said, "The Indonesian modest fashion industry is growing rapidly. Through a 
global collaboration, we want to contribute to support the national economic 
recovery, especially in the modest fashion sector."
