MetaOptics Begins Shipment of Metalens Smartphone and AI Smart Glasses to European and Japanese Customers for Evaluation

SINGAPORE, June 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaOptics Ltd. (Catalist: 9MT)
("MetaOptics" or the "Company"), a leading-edge semiconductor optics company
pioneering metalens technology, today announced that it has begun shipping
evaluation units of its metalens-integrated 5G smartphone and AI smart glasses
to prospective customers in Europe, Japan and the Philippines, allowing leading
consumer electronics brands, telecommunications operators and original design
manufacturers in these regions to evaluate, assess and test MetaOptics'
glass-based metalens optical modules in their own development environments, for
eventual integration into their own systems and applications.

Glass-based metalenses replace bulky, multi-element lens stacks with a single
ultra-thin optical layer, enabling thinner, smaller and more heat-resistant
modules than conventional optics. With the ability to design, mass-produce and
test metalenses at scale on its 4-inch and 12-inch platforms, MetaOptics
delivers reliable, mass production-ready solutions for customers looking to
adopt metalens technology in their next-generation products, across
smartphones, AR/VR wearables, automotive sensing and beyond.

"Shipping evaluation units to customers is a defining step in our journey
from showcase to mass adoption," said MetaOptics Executive Chairman Thng Chong
Kim. "The response to our metalens-powered devices at CES 2026 was exceptional,
and we are now putting evaluation units directly into the hands of demanding
customers in the world's most discerning electronics markets. Their feedback
will help us refine these products and accelerate the path toward mass adoption
of metalens technology in everyday devices."

Metalens-Integrated 5G Smartphone

The MetaOptics 5G smartphone evaluation unit features MetaOptics' ultra-thin
metalens optical module, which enables a sleek, bump-free back cover, featuring
a front-facing VGA colour camera for video calls, alongside a non-contact
metalens 3D biometric fingerprint module that detects high-resolution 3D
fingerprint through the display for secure, touch-free authentication, all
powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM6490 platform.

Metalens-Integrated AI Smart Glasses

The MetaOptics AI smart glasses incorporate a compact colour metalens camera
system, enabling intuitive gesture-based control. Its lightweight, sporty form
factor is designed for all-day wearability, all
powered by the Qualcomm AR1 Snapdragon platform.

Next-Generation Colour Camera Module

As part of its product roadmap, MetaOptics has completed the design of the
next-generation 12MP colour metalens camera module and plans to showcase it at
CES 2027.

As part of its broader commercialisation efforts, MetaOptics intends to
extend the evaluation programme to additional customers and markets over time.
The Company will provide updates on customer engagement and commercialisation
progress as appropriate.

MetaOptics achieves a progressive milestone in securing design/evaluation orders for its metalenses and modules from world-class customers

SINGAPORE, April 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaOptics Ltd (Catalist: 9MT)
("MetaOptics" or the "Company", and together with its subsidiaries, the
"Group") is pleased to announced that it has achieved a progressive milestone
in securing design/evaluation orders of its metalenses and modules from
world-class customers.

As announced in the Company's annual report for the financial year ended 31
December 2025, the Company noted that customers are moving beyond initial
interest in metalens technology into active evaluation, development, and
engagement. The keen and ongoing engagement by the Group with identified
customers, including technical discussions and non-binding memorandums of
understanding, have led the Group to achieve the following progressive
milestones with world-class customers across the consumer electronics,
semiconductor design and manufacturing, and engineering and technology sectors:

Following a rigorous testing and evaluation process, the Group has recently
been qualified as a direct supplier to a major consumer electronics company
based in South Korea. The Group is pleased to update that it had recently
completed the metalens design optimisation phase, and the customer is actively
reviewing the system parameters and specifications. The Group's engineers are
in close cooperation with the customer for the next steps, which include the
Group's participation in the product launch cycle.

The Group has recently submitted a prototyping and production proposal to a
leading European engineering and technology company, to support
metalens-powered next generation particle sensing solutions. The Group's
customised metalens for the aforementioned solutions, have a diameter of less
than 1mm, and is intended to be manufactured using the Group's 12-inch DUV
immersion photolithography process, leveraging semiconductor fabrication
capabilities.

Following technical discussions with a European semiconductor foundry and
manufacturing company, the Group has presented design features and capabilities
of its automatic metalens tester, particularly its sorting and characterisation
functionalities, in view of a potential deployment of the Group's automatic
metalens tester at the customer's foundry. The Group is highly excited for this
opportunity to assist with the establishment of end-to-end metalens
manufacturing capabilities in Europe, and to support the region's advanced
semiconductor ecosystems through its vertically integrated Metalens Equipment
business segment, which focuses on the development and commercialisation of
advanced production systems, including the direct laser writer, automatic
metalens tester, and automatic metalens module assembler.

Our Group has recently sold a sample of our monochrome wide angle IoT
infrared metalens camera development kit to a major vehicle intelligence
sensing company based in South Korea. The Group is working closely with the
customer to further facilitate the ongoing evaluation process.

As announced in March 2026, the Group's Taiwanese microfab platform is making
good progress in customer prospecting. Following the successful deployment of
the direct laser writer and automatic metalens tester, an established
co-packaged optics supplier to a major foundry has approached the platform for
metalens samples. The Group is working closely with its Taiwanese microfab
partner to support the supply of such metalenses samples. In parallel, the
Group is also exploring the deployment and setup of its direct laser writer and
automatic metalens tester to a separate microfab platform in an established hub
in Asia, by end-2026, to further support the region's semiconductor supply
chain and to meet growing customer demand.

"Following the strong support received from shareholders at our recently held
annual general meeting and extraordinary meeting held on 10 April 2026, in
relation to inter alia, the proposed Nasdaq dual listing, and the sustained
traction from customers, we are ready and committed to execute our growth
plans, further accelerate commercialisation of our metalenses, expand our
international networks, and strengthen our foothold in high-growth sectors"
said Mr Thng Chong Kim, Executive Chairman.

MetaOptics progresses on its strategic growth and leadership transition initiatives

SINGAPORE, March 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaOptics Ltd (Catalist: 9MT)
("MetaOptics" or the "Company", and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group")
recentlyannounced a series of strategic growth initiatives on SGXNet, including
a leadership transition process, and continued progress across its innovation
and commercialisation expansion roadmap.

Leadership Transition

As part of its long-term succession planning strategy and to sharpen its
geographical growth initiatives in the United States highlighted by its
incorporation of MetaOptics Inc. (USA) on 27 October 2025 in Nevada to enable
collaboration with world-class customers, the Company had promoted and
appointed Mr. Aloysius Chua Hao Peng ("Aloysius" or "Mr. Aloysius Chua") as
Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer ("CEO"), effective 1 March 2026
to support this strategic growth.

Mr. Aloysius Chua, previously the Deputy CEO of the Company, played a pivotal
role in driving and executing MetaOptics' strategic initiatives since joining
the Group in 2021. His contributions span across equipment development,
metalens fabrication, and the assembly of advanced meta optics components. In
his new role, Mr. Aloysius Chua will continue to lead operations, oversee the
entire supply chain, manage the fulfilment of purchase orders, and supervise
the 2 PhD scientists hired in August 2025, who currently report directly to him.

Following this transition, Mr. Thng Chong Kim remains as Executive Chairman,
providing strategic oversight while remaining actively involved in the
Company's day-to-day operations. He will participate in conceptual discussions,
advance future research and development ("R&D") initiatives such as the tunable
metalens module, foster strategic partnerships, including collaborations with
Stanford Engineering's SystemX Alliance program and spearhead the establishment
of the US foundry as part of the Company's expansion plans.

Mr. Thng Chong Kim, Executive Chairman of MetaOptics, said:

"The Board is confident in Mr. Aloysius Chua's leadership and his deep
understanding of MetaOptics' technology and operations. His appointment
reflects our commitment to strong succession planning and positions the Company
well for its next phase of growth. Aloysius has been instrumental not only in
shaping our strategic direction but more importantly, in driving operations,
overseeing the supply chain, managing order fulfilment, and strengthening our
technical capabilities. We believe he is the right leader to drive execution as
we scale our business and expand our global footprint. I will continue to
contribute to the continued growth and expansion of the Group, in my capacity
as Executive Chairman, while I remain involved in day-to-day operations and
enhancing industry networks, providing strategic oversight and guidance, and
strengthening stakeholder management and engagement."

Mr. Aloysius Chua Hao Peng, Executive Director and CEO of MetaOptics, said:

"I am honoured to take on the role of Executive Director and CEO at this
important stage of MetaOptics' journey. Over the past few years, we have built
a strong foundation in metalens technology, supported by deep engineering
capabilities and a clear vision for commercialisation. Looking ahead, we will

Development collaboration update: Compact Tunable Metalens Module Advances 3D Non-Contact Fingerprint Biometrics Toward Smartphone Integration Possibilities

SINGAPORE, March 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaOptics Ltd (Catalist: 9MT)
("MetaOptics" or the "Company", and together with its subsidiaries, the
"Group") has announced plans to develop a compact optical module for 3D
non-contact fingerprint biometrics, designed to support future smartphone
integration possibilities. The project enhances the Company's existing 3D
sensing technology by reducing optical stack size and incorporating electronic
tuning to optimise imaging performance without the complexity of mechanical
motion.

<https://mma.prnasia.com/media2/2923250/image_5032702_24701195.html>

This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with a Singapore-based
national institute that supports the commercialisation of advanced
semiconductor technologies. This collaborative partnership accelerates the
translation of cutting-edge optical research into manufacturable and scalable
solutions for next-generation secure identity systems.

At the core of the module is a tunable flat-lens optical stack built around
two ultra-thin metalenses. Unlike traditional curved lenses, these
nanostructured flat optical elements precisely shape and focus light within an
exceptionally compact architecture. Each metalens is fabricated on a glass
substrate, which are separated by an approximately 100 µm-thick liquid crystal
("LC") layer equivalent to the thickness of a human hair.

By applying voltage across the LC layer, the optical characteristics of the
stack can be electronically adjusted, enabling tunable optical response in a
highly compact form factor, eliminating the need for bulky or failure-prone
mechanical focusing components.

It is intended that each 2.0 mm-diameter metalens will sit on a 0.775 mm
glass substrate, creating a 1.65 mm optical stack within a target overall
module thickness of about 5 mm, supporting integration into space-constrained
consumer devices. The demonstrator uses green wavelength 532 nm for this
optical module design, paired with a monochrome image sensor and control
electronics, to capture detailed fingerprint features under controlled
conditions.

"I have been working on small pixel size, LC-based spatial light modulators ("
SLMs")—a challenging class of electro-optic systems where stable, repeatable
tuning must be achieved within an extremely compact form factor", said Dr.
Tobias W. W. Mass (VP Systems), MetaOptics Ltd. "Applying this experience to
realise an autofocus mechanism for a metalens imaging system is a logical step
for MetaOptics. We selected an LC tuning approach because it is a mature
technology platform with high optical design freedom while maintaining fully
electronic actuation. Compared with mechanical focusing approaches such as
VCM-based actuation, our approach supports scalable manufacturing and improved
yield."

"This programme builds directly on the insights gained from our
first-generation 3D non-contact fingerprint module. With this next-generation
tunable metalens solution, we are targeting a significant reduction in module
size down to approximately a 5mm encapsulation, enabling mounting in
space-constrained consumer electronics such as 5G smartphones and notebooks.
Importantly, while many biometric modules in the market are passive, our
tunable metalens stack enables an 'active' optical architecture—electronically
adjustable to optimise fingerprint capture—supporting higher security through
improved 3D biometric precision and offering a cleaner, non-contact alternative
to conventional 2D contact-based fingerprint solutions."

We intend to showcase our new generation 3D biometrics sensing tunable module
at CES 2027 in Las Vegas next January. Featuring an advanced tunable metalens,
this module delivers significantly higher fingerprint tracing precision, a
significantly smaller device size and higher hygienic as compared with
currently available 2D biometric technologies.

Additional updates will be shared as development progresses.

The Company delivered significant year-on-year increase in revenue by 891% to
S$0.8 million in FY2025, primarily due to delivery of a direct laser writer to
a customer in Taiwan, as announced by the Company on 24 September 2025,
enabling metalens prototyping and fabrication in the region's semiconductor
supply chain, as well as higher sales of metalenses and modules to customers
globally, to facilitate customers' evaluation of metalens solutions and
integration into their applications.

The net loss for FY2025 of S$5.4 million was primarily attributable to the
following areas:

(i) Expenses incurred as the Group seeks platforms for growth. One-off
professional fees of approximately S$2.4 million was incurred in FY2025, in
connection with the Company's listing on Catalist of the SGX-ST in September
2025, and the proposed dual listing of the Company on the NASDAQ stock exchange
as announced on 17 November 2025;

(ii) Approximately S$1 million in non-cash expenses including finance
expenses and depreciation and amortisation; and

(iii) Enhanced research and development efforts. Research and development
expenses of approximately S$1.8 million was incurred in FY2025 in connection
with and to drive new product launches, including the launch of the Group's
latest proprietary metalens-powered consumer electronics prototypes and
generation-2 products at the recently held CES 2026, which are expected to
further strengthen the Group's competitive position, in view of the strong
customer feedback and traction.

Positioning the Group for growth

As part of its succession planning and strategic expansion plans, the Group
has also appointed Mr Aloysius Chua Hao Peng ("Aloysius") as Executive Director
and Chief Executive Officer, to further drive and lead strategic initiatives
and growth of the Group's 4 business groups encompassing:

(i) Metalens equipment
- Focuses on the sale of advanced metalens production machines, including the
direct laser writer, metalens automatic tester, and metalens automatic assembler

(ii) Metalens foundry
- Manufacturing and fabrication of customised metalenses, including in the
United States as a strategic growth base, enabling the Group to provide its
metalens design & manufacturing expertise to world class clients and partners
across the United States in the fields of 5G smart phones, data communications,
data centres, fiber optics, AI semiconductor manufacturing, and consumer
electronics

(iii) Metalens products
- Design and development of the IoT powered products specifically the metalens
5G smartphone, pico projectors, and smart glasses incorporating metalens with
3D gesture recognition

(iv) MetaOptics artificial intelligence ("AI")
- Development of 3D biometric, gesture recognition, imaging and IoT algorithms
to optimise the implementation and performance of metalens technology

Mr Thng Chong Kim, as Executive Chairman, continues to oversee management
performance, strategic planning and business development, including the recent
expansion to the United States with the recent incorporation of the subsidiary
in the United States, and membership in Stanford Engineering's SystemX Alliance
program, supporting the Group's strategy to deliver high-performance metaoptics
solutions to customers across North America.

The Group remains well-capitalised, with a cash balance of approximately
S$2.9 million and S$4.8 million unutilised from the net proceeds raised in
connection with the IPO and placement exercise undertaken in December 2025,
respectively, providing a strong cash base totalling S$8.8 million allowing the
Group to execute its commercial rollout globally and support customers'
requirements with high performance metalens solutions.

MetaOptics Provides Year-End Business Review and Update

SINGAPORE, Dec. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaOptics Ltd (Catalist: 9MT)
("MetaOptics" or the "Company", and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group")
As we approach the Christmas festive season and the close of 2025, MetaOptics
would like to express its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders who have
supported the Company's journey and growth.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the professional teams involved in our
listing on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading
Limited, to our shareholders who have supported the Company since its
inception, and to our investors who continue to believe in our long-term
vision. In particular, we are grateful to the investors who are subscribing for
our new shares for an aggregate ofS$4.85 million under our recent Placement
exercise announced on1 December 2025, strengthening our resources for the
fulfilment of anticipated upcoming customer purchase orders and providing
funding for the Group's general working capital requirements.

Strategic Growth and Collaboration

MetaOptics continues to make progress on continued collaboration with
institutional investors, strategic partners, and the broader innovation
ecosystem, focusing on deep technology, semiconductor innovation, and global
market expansion. These partnerships are key to accelerating technology
commercialisation, talent development, and sustainable growth acrossSingapore,
the U.S., and international markets.

MetaOptics recently signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with a
major camera module manufacturer to produce metalens camera and optical
modules, including thin metalens modules for notebook front-facing cameras and
laser-based consumer electronics products. MetaOptics also entered into a
design agreement with a world-class customer to develop a precision projector
metalens, miniaturising their existing optical lens technology.

U.S. Expansion and Technology Development

During 2025, MetaOptics strategically expanded to the U.S. through the
incorporation of its U.S. subsidiary inOctober 2025 and the rental of office
space through the NUS Block 71 co-working space in San Mateo, strategically
located in the heart of Silicon Valley which allowed close engagement with
leading semiconductor and smart device companies, and active prospecting of
global technology leaders.

MetaOptics has received positive market interest for its direct laser writer
technologies and identified a technology gap in the 200nm–600nm range where
MetaOptics' solutions are well positioned to deliver differentiated value.
Collaborations with two leading U.S. universities on advanced
computational/tunable metalens projects are underway, targeting potential
product launches potentially from 2027, alongside recruitment of emerging
talent.

MetaOptics had earlier announced its intention to seek a dual listing of the
Company's shares on the NASDAQ Stock Market inthe United States (the "Proposed
NASDAQ Listing") and will provide updates and release announcements relating to
the Proposed NASDAQ Listing (including any material developments and progress
made) as may be appropriate from time to time.

Product Launches and Market Outlook

MetaOptics' latest device prototypes and Generation-2 products are nearing
completion for CES 2026, including participation in Pepcom Premiere. As the
Company closes 2025, sales of metalens equipment, metalenses, and modules have
exceeded expectations and outperformed 2024, with strong bookings expected for
2026 driven by Generation-1 products. Generation-2 products, including
rectangular metalenses, metalens module assembly tools, and 5G smart device
solutions, are expected to further strengthen our competitive position.

MetaOptics wishes all shareholders, partners, customers, and friends a Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year and looks forward to continued progress and
growth in 2026.

On top of the encouraging share price movement, the Company recently
announced on24 September 2025 the plan to improve its regional production and
product development capabilities in Taoyuan,Taiwan. As Executive Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr. Mark Thng noted, the expanded
capability, along with the proximity toTaiwan's semiconductor hub, enables
better partner support, faster product iteration, faster turnaround, and
scalable integration for its global customers.

Specifically, the Company plans to deploy additional Direct Laser Writers ("
DLW") and automatic testers at the site in Taiwan, allowing the Company to meet
growing market demand for metalenses while accelerating the innovative
development of next-generation optical solutions. Leveraging its advanced
metalens solutions with demonstrated nanofabrication capability down to 150nm
and below, MetaOptics aims to be one of the pioneers in Co-Packaged Optics ("CPO
"), which promises to revolutionize AI infrastructure by advancing light-based
data transmission.

MetaOptics' investment in production technology — such as its
industry-leading DLW precision of a minimum line width of 90nm — positions the
Company at the forefront of optical miniaturization and scalability. The
aforesaid strategic moves, complemented by collaborations with major
semiconductor OEMs and ongoing expansion efforts into strategic overseas
locations, demonstrate MetaOptics' commitment to long-term innovation and
sustainable growth.

On 3 October 2025, MetaOptics entered into a development agreement with a
leading South Korean consumer electronics company, for the design and
development of metalens modules. The Company has also submitted sample metalens
modules for evaluation and provided quotations for prototyping and mass
production to a German automotive company, and is concurrently engaging a
leading American consumer electronics company on potential metalens
applications, and discussions remaining ongoing.

The Company is also pushing further on product development. In 2026,
MetaOptics is poised to deliver several major product innovations, reinforcing
its role as a market disruptor. Firstly, recent test runs demonstrate that the
Company's rectangular metalens design could potentially achieve impressive
full-color imaging, further validating its technical leadership in advanced
metaoptics. This rectangular metalens design has also been submitted for
consideration at the CES Innovation Awards 2026 program, an annual competition
honouring design and engineering in consumer technology products. In addition,
the upcoming Pico Projector 2.0 allows for a package size that is approximately
half of the current model, setting a new industry benchmark and making it one
of the smallest projectors worldwide. On top of that, the Company is also
gearing up for the launch of the first ultra-thin demonstration smartphone
equipped with a metalens camera and non-contact fingerprint module, both
precisely engineered so that camera modules no longer protrude from the device
casing. This breakthrough is set to address a ubiquitous cosmetic drawback of
current smartphone designs, underscoring MetaOptics' capacity to reshape the
high-growth consumer segment.

These product and equipment milestones are expected to drive an unprecedented
leap in the financial performance of the Group. The anticipated increase in
production capacity and product innovation is expected to materially boost the
Group's revenue for the current financial year ending31 December 2025, as
compared to the previous financial year ended31 December 2024, strengthening
MetaOptics' competitive edge, and boosting its attractiveness to investors
seeking opportunities in high-growth and technology-driven sectors.

The Company is also pushing further on product development. In 2026, MetaOptics is poised to deliver several major product innovations, reinforcing its role as a market disruptor. Firstly, recent test runs demonstrate that the Company's rectangular metalens design could potentially achieve impressive full-color imaging, further validating its technical leadership in advanced metaoptics. This rectangular metalens design has also been submitted for consideration at the CES Innovation Awards 2026 program, an annual competition honouring design and engineering in consumer technology products. In addition, the upcoming Pico Projector 2.0 allows for a package size that is approximately half of the current model, setting a new industry benchmark and making it one of the smallest projectors worldwide. On top of that, the Company is also gearing up for the launch of the first ultra-thin demonstration smartphone equipped with a metalens camera and non-contact fingerprint module, both precisely engineered so that camera modules no longer protrude from the device casing. This breakthrough is set to address a ubiquitous cosmetic drawback of current smartphone designs, underscoring MetaOptics' capacity to reshape the high-growth consumer segment.

These product and equipment milestones are expected to drive an unprecedented leap in the financial performance of the Group. The anticipated increase in production capacity and product innovation is expected to materially boost the Group's revenue for the current financial year ending 31 December 2025, as compared to the previous financial year ended 31 December 2024, strengthening MetaOptics' competitive edge, and boosting its attractiveness to investors seeking opportunities in high-growth and technology-driven sectors.
