2018-03-10 12:13

CHIAYI, Taiwan, March 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- 2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival holds an assembly of all the adorable mascots in Chiayi. The festival gathers the Chiayi County mascot "Chia-i," the Chiba Prefecture mascot "CHI-BA KUN," and the Niigata Prefecture mascot "TOKKIKKI," as well as the "DORAEMON" and its friends in the classic Japanese animation in Children's Taste in Chiayi. Tourists cheer and applause once they showed up, as those cute mascots conduct an international exchange through joy and happiness.

The Chiayi County mascot "Chia-i" just made its debut this year. Its design was based on Taiwan blue pheasant, a Taiwanese endemic species and the bird of the Chiayi County. The Chinese phrase "CHIAYIREN" can be derived from the name "Chia-i," representing the local spirit of diligence and hard work. With the alternate bright color of red and blue one after another, together with its cute and curious features, Chia-i attracts everyone's attention and affection.

From February 16 to March 11, 2018, Chia-i, the local host of Chiayi, invites CHI-BA KUN from Chiba Prefecture, TOKKIKKI from Niigata Prefecture and DORAEMON and its friends from Japan to visit the Taiwan Lantern Festival to bring joyful atmosphere to the public. Popular with all the tourists visiting Chiayi for the Taiwan Lantern Festival, regardless of ages, all the visitors are brimming with happiness!
