Hangzhou is one of the "heavens on earth" in the minds of the people of China, famed for its breathtaking views, myriad historical points of interest, encapsulated in the Chinese proverb "Up above there is heaven and down below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou". The city, with its long cultural history, is one of the cradles of Wuyue culture. More recently, with the development and growth of the city's commerce and trade, Hangzhou has been playing an increasingly important political role. The city hosted the 2016 G20 Summit and is scheduled to host the 2018 FINA Short Course World Championships and the 2022 Asian Games. An increasing number of tourists and business executives visit Hangzhou for business or pleasure, taking in the incredible view of West Lake while sipping a cup of Jiangnan tea, a local specialty brewed with tea leaves grown in rich soil of the region immediately surrounding the city.

The Madrid-Hangzhou route launched by Beijing Capital Airlines is the first direct flight between Spain and Eastern China. The flight will not only promote economic and cultural communication between China's Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and southern Europe as well as serve as a conduit for top students attending universities in the two regions, but also play an important role in the development of tourism between the two areas.

From now until October 31st, travelers are entitled to preferential round-trip prices, starting at 880 yuan (excluding taxes) for economy class tickets and 6,800 yuan (excluding taxes) for business class tickets from Hangzhou, and 120 Euros (excluding taxes) for economy class tickets and 980 Euros (excluding taxes) for business class tickets from Madrid.
