SHANGHAI, Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 11, China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market (COTTM) formally signed a strategic partnership agreement with Zhejiang Qu'a Network Technology Co., Ltd (Alitrip) at Shanghai New International Expo Center. Mr. Zhou Zheng, Vice President of Alitrip, Mr. Tony Duan, Vice President of Alitrip, Mr. Matt Thompson, COTTM Event Director of Tarsus Group, Ms. Qing Qinghui, COTTM China Representative, and Mr. Sun Li, Chief Strategy Officer of Beijing Rising Tourism Industry Corporation and a number of press and media organizations attended the signing ceremony.

Matt Thompson, COTTM Event Director of Tarsus Group, said in an interview, "We will make the most daring pioneering attempt based on the strategic cooperation between COTTM and Alitrip, to completely open a gate for overseas suppliers to enter China's outbound travel and tourism market. We will be committed to providing all-round services for COTTM exhibitors, including not only to continue the industry's annual face-to-face B2B offline exhibition, but also to help destinations to approach the consumers' market via Alitrip.

An online COTTM hall will be set up at Alitrip soon, which we believe will be a very good opportunity for overseas suppliers to reach the Chinese consumers' market."

Being the world's leading comprehensive travel service platform under Alibaba Group, Alitrip launched the"national pavilion" project in April 2016, and opened a dedicated "national pavilion" channel on its home page in June.

Currently, a list of destination countries, such as Singapore (announced) Malaysia (announced), Australia (announced), South Korea and Thailand are actively setting up their national halls with Alitrip, while Tunisia, the pearl of the Mediterranean, has just signed the "national pavilion" cooperative agreement with Alitrip at Shanghai's New International Expo Center. Mr. Abdellatif H'mam, the General Director of Tunisian National Tourist Office, led a delegation to attend the ceremony and signed in the agreement.

Tony Duan, vice president of Alitrip commented, "It is a very important step to partner with COTTM for Alitrip's international destination strategy. As a leading professional B2B outbound travel & tourism show in China, COTTM can bring us more high-quality resources of the global tourism destinations, and constantly enrich our 'national pavilion' and therefore provide better and richer products for Chinese consumers.

"Meanwhile, a 'COTTM Online' pavilion will be set up in Alitrip to display products from COTTM resources to Chinese consumers.  Due to the efforts of Ms. Qing Qinghui, COTTM China Representative, the Tunisian National Tourist Office has become the first tourism board which plans to set up their national hall at Alitrip via COTTM."

"I would like to share our thoughts on the strategic partnership between COTTM and Alitrip," said Ms. Qing. "Firstly, to establish a 'COTTM Online' hall is a very important step for COTTM to upgrade its brand by approaching the consumers' market.

"In my opinion, it is an outbound travel industry trend on how to make connections between overseas destination resources and Chinese consumers. It is COTTM's mission to provide more value for our clients, including tourism boards and private sector companies. Helping our clients to approach Chinese consumers via Alitrip has become the best solution.

"Secondly, COTTM online will bring value for destinations and service providers from the following aspects: 1, to gain the chance to advertise and promote products in China's most powerful online trading platform, Ali Group; 2, to get potential consumer's demographic data and to do more accurate marketing campaigns; 3, to sell their products directly to consumers.

"Thirdly, 'COTTM Online' pavilion will be a strategic deploying for COTTM's development. The technology and operational services for COTTM and Alitrip's co-operation will be implemented by Beijing Rising Tourism Industry Corporation.  Last but not least, COTTM is still committed to making the annual offline show as usual, and to facilitating the China outbound travel and tourism industry development."

According to the statistics of The Annual Report of the 2015 China OutboundTourism Development, those born in the 1970s and 80s have become the main force of outbound travel population, respectively accounting for 27.3% and 37.6% of the respondents, while those born in the 90s, who have grown up with the development of the Internet and mobile Internet have a strong demand for self-service outbound travelling.

Moreover, due to other factors like more lenient visa policies in many countries, professional and convenient visa services for tourists, an increase in the number of flights to outbound destinations, the convenience of ticket purchasing, and direct services via online booking from overseas local destination providers, there is a dramatic increase in demand.

It is predicted that Chinese outbound travel departures will reach 133 million, with an increase of 11.5%. While the market is prosperous, the competition is very fierce. The partnership between COTTM and Alitrip is just driven by the market.

COTTM online, to be set up in Alitrip soon, will allow consumers to book destination products and services directly via the Alitrip platform, and hence facilitate enormously outbound tourists and travellers. Taking the opportunity of Alitrip releasing their fresh new brand "Fliggy", COTTM is proud of creating a better travelling experience and better life for young generation.
