China National Tourism Administration chairman Li Jinzao leads the government's delegation and expresses his support for the group's innovative business model

CHENGDU, China, Sept. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tourism is a borderless industry, while "tourism plus" is a multidimensional and multi-layered strategy that can be implemented in a variety of ways. On September 10, 2017, a delegation of government leaders, including China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) chairman Li Jinzao and Chengdu mayor Luo Qiang, and industry experts, paid a visit to Andaman, a comprehensive vacation resort developed and owned by Regalia Group in Dujiangyan, a prefecture-level city in Chengdu, Sichuan province, China, as part of the government's efforts to help accelerate the transformation of Sichuan province's tourism sector and to promote the healthy development of the tourism plus strategy.

At the reception center, Regalia Group chairman Zhong Weijie and vice president He Shangxiong gave a presentation to the delegation on the development of ecological tourism at Andaman as well as on their business model combining tourism with outdoor sports, a model and approach that represents the future direction of the project. The business model received positive feedback from the leaders of the delegation, most notably from the CNTA chairman and the Chengdu mayor.

The CNTA Chairman once said at a national tourism conference, "Research should be driven by practices across the tourism industry." He was of the opinion that CNTA needs to focus more on the tourism plus strategy by combining tourism with other industries, particularly outdoor sports, in order to facilitate the needed adjustment and expected transformation of the industry mix. "To this end, the industry mix that has been dominated by the single pattern of tourism and focuses solely on visits to traditional travel destinations should be adjusted to highlight a new model combining tourism with outdoor sports," added Mr Li. "To be in line with the tourism plus strategy, a diverse range of tourism products must to be developed based on the local characteristics and culture of the destination in a move to meet the diversified and personalized needs of tourists for experiential or in-depth tourism."

With a focus on providing memorable vacation experiences that integrate outdoor sports and forest wellness, Regalia's Andaman project is not only a true experiential travel destination combining tourism with sports, but also a comprehensive resort integrating leisure activities, wellness and outdoor sports. In addition, Regalia has created a Flying Fox-themed brand that has gained recognition among visitors. Flying Fox Park is expected to attract more adventure enthusiasts and followers as additional facilities that are scheduled to be launched soon come on board. Regalia is on track to significantly strengthen its competitiveness by virtue of a tourism model combining outdoor sports with forest wellness.

The recognition by the government leaders affirms Regalia's new tourism model and the future direction of the tourism industry. Regalia plans to focus on the tourism plus strategy through implementation of the new tourism model with each new project the firm undertakes. With the new approach, a bright future is in the making for both Regalia and for the Chinese tourism industry in general.
