2016-07-11 16:46 3020

HONG KONG, July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chubb Life today announced that it has been named a "Caring Company" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for the 14th consecutive year in recognition of its commitment to employee welfare and environmental sustainability. Chubb Life was also accredited as a "Manpower Developer" by the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) for the third time since 2010.

As one of the insurance companies to achieve the "10 Years Plus Caring Company" designation,  Chubb Life is committed to employee welfare and environmental sustainability. Chubb Life provides its employees with a variety of wellness and recreational activities including health month, handcraft workshops and cooking classes to help them achieve a better work-life balance.

Chubb Life also encourages its employees to participate in charitable campaigns and events, such as the annual Regional "Day of Service," in which employees engage in volunteer projects benefiting the local community in the areas of education and health, poverty and the environment.

In 2015, more than 100 employees and agents in Hong Kong participated in rice farming activities, where rice was distributed to the needy afterwards. In addition, Chubb Life's employees raised funds for environmental education by participating in the Green Power Hike, one of the largest charitable hiking activities in Hong Kong.

Chubb Life's re-accreditation as a Manpower Developer under the ERB Manpower Development Scheme recognizes the company's commitment to offer professional training and continuous skills enhancement to its workforce.

Allan Lam, Country President of Chubb Life in Hong Kong, said, "We are delighted and honored to have received these recognitions for so many years. We believe one key to our success is maintaining a motivating work environment that offers a wide range of health and wellness programs as well as initiatives to help build a sustainable environment for the future. Valuing our employees as much as our customers, we place a strong focus on individual development and will continue to improve our manpower training."

Launched in 2002, the Caring Company Scheme aims to cultivate good corporate citizenship and to encourage strategic partnerships among businesses and non-profit organizations to create a more cohesive society. Organizations are awarded the "Caring Company" designation for partnerships with the social service sector and caring for the community, employees and the environment.

Since its launch in December 2009, the ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme recognizes achievements in manpower training and development. Participating organizations can review and evaluate the effectiveness of their strategies and practices in accordance with a set of objectives and stringent assessment criteria established by the independent Technical Consultant. Organizations that fulfill the criteria will be acknowledged as Manpower Developers for a two-year period, subject to renewal every two years.
