With $7 million in investments, Findo will further develop its unsupervised deep learning technologies and bring Foxit users a semantic search experience to help them increase work productivity with PDF files.

MENLO PARK, California, Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Findo, a smart search assistant, announces a strategic partnership with Foxit, a leading software provider of PDF solutions, which includes a $600,000 investment in Findo and mutual technology integration. This investment is part of a $7 million series seed round along with ABBYY, Flint Capital, and investors from the scanner and document markets.

The integration will give 425 million Foxit users the opportunity to work with PDF files more effectively. Users will be able to classify files by topic, find similar PDF files and compare them, and do a quick file search even if they don't remember the exact keywords or the sender's name. At the same time, Findo users will be able to edit PDF files while using the product.

"We want to provide the best search experience to our customers and value the deep learning technologies that Findo develops," said Steven Li, Foxit's CTO. "PDF is the most widely used document format in the business world today. The main purpose of this partnership is to bring innovative technologies to market and create better solutions for every PDF user."

Every year, the number of searchable items such as PDFs, documents, image files, email, messages, contacts, and notes increases at an unbelievable rate, and is estimated to exceed 10 million searchable items per each knowledgeable person in the next few years.

"The problem with the overwhelming amount of personal data across email, files, folders, and contacts is inevitable, and we believe that only advanced artificial intelligence technology can help people organize this personal-data tsunami," said Gary Fowler, CEO and Co-Founder, Findo.

Currently, Findo supports five main form factors: Web app, mobile app, messenger bot, Chrome/Firefox extension, and the recently added iMessage app where users can easily find and send their emails, files, notes, and contact details. The integration between Findo and Foxit products will support web, cloud, and mobile platforms and is estimated to be completed in 2017.
