MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on recent analysis of the radio frequency (RF) record and playback solutions market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Averna as the recipient of the 2016 Global Customer Value Leadership Award. As RF record and playback solutions are important to the growing communication test market, value-added, reliable, flexible, and future-proof solutions to meet diverse customer demands are in focus. Averna's modular, software-defined solutions address these requirements effectively and have garnered the company credibility and a strong brand reputation.

The market for RF record and playback solutions is set to grow rapidly, driven by the exponential growth of connected devices that will touch 50 billion units by 2020. To enable the proper testing of new wireless communication standards, RF record and playback solutions must achieve high streaming rates and volume, correlate the recorded data with field conditions, process the captured data, integrate with other test equipment, and upgrade specifications and features.

"Already a leading test engineering solution provider, Averna continues to consolidate its position through visionary initiatives such as setting up an innovation lab for research in RF and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) domains, a product focus targeting growing markets, catering to diverse market needs, and ensuring a global presence," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Consultant Prem Shanmugam. "Every strategy is aimed at maximizing the value proposition for customers."

Averna's test and measurement original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners include National Instruments (NI) and Keysight Technologies. The RP-6100 Series, launched in June 2015, is based on NI's universal software radio peripheral (USRP) and Averna's RF record and playback expertise. The Series handles a frequency range of 10 megahertz (MHz) to 6 gigahertz (GHz), covering all global navigation satellite system (GNSS) bands, HD Radio, Wi-Fi, long-term evolution (LTE), and other signals. Moreover, with a high-speed streaming bus such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet, along with solid state drive (SSD) storage options, the Series enables streaming of up to 160 MHz bandwidth at 14-bit resolution, capturing up to 16 terabytes (TB) of data.

"Frost & Sullivan's independent analysis clearly shows that by providing a single platform solution for testing all GNSS bands, HD Radio, Wi-Fi, LTE, and more, Averna ensures both convenience and cost effectiveness for its customers," noted Shanmugam. "Further, the solution is offered in desktop, portable, and rackmount versions, allowing customers to optimize usage based on whether it is a simple desktop measurement, a field trial, or an extensive design test in a lab. This is in contrast to competitors that offer lesser range solutions and often either a portable or a rackmount option only."

Averna's RF record and playback solutions record audio and video data and integrate that data with interactive maps to synchronize and correlate the RF data with field conditions. Additionally, using a modular platform, Averna can increase the number of channels, integrate other tests, or add video testing, audio testing, and other electronic or communication testing functions to provide a seamlessly integrated solution.

Averna enhances the customer ownership experience through its structured and process-oriented approach. The company's sales team is structured to facilitate domain-specific test solutions and consultation. With its test engineering capabilities, Averna has moved up the product development life cycle and is actively involved in providing solutions at the design and research and development stages, in addition to production testing solutions. The company is using acquisitions such as Cal-Bay Systems Inc. on the US West Coast and Test & Measurement Solutions in Europe to increase its global reach as well as provide a strong local presence.

For its strong overall performance in meeting and satisfying customer needs, Averna earns Frost & Sullivan's 2016 Global Customer Value Leadership Award. Each year, this award is presented to the company that has demonstrated excellence in implementing strategies that proactively create value for its customers, with a focus on improving the return on the investment that customers make in its services or products. The award recognizes the company's inordinate focus on enhancing the value that its customers receive, beyond simply good customer service, leading to improved customer retention and ultimately customer base expansion.

Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for outstanding achievement in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research.
