LONDON, June 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the video conferencing endpoint industry, Frost & Sullivan recognises Tely with the 2016 EMEA Frost & Sullivan Award for Price/Performance Value Leadership. Tely's exceptional product quality and aggressive pricing have set it apart from its peers in the extremely competitive video conferencing endpoint industry.

Being a late entrant to the video conferencing endpoint market, Tely realised that it had to be a disruptor in order to establish a foothold in the market. It strategically targeted the underserved huddle meeting spaces with a highly cost-effective and easy-to-use endpoint. Because huddle rooms often lack a tailored infrastructure, they need a lean, easy-to-install video setup that would not require system integrators. Tely tapped into this opportunity with its Tely 200 product, a plug-and-play endpoint with in-built HD camera, support for optional USB device and integrated dual microphones.

"The Tely 200 works with cloud-based video services from a host of service providers, and the user interface for these services can be customised to the requirements of the respective cloud service provider and enterprise customer," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Vaishno Devi Srinivasan. "This enables tighter integration and more advanced capabilities than those offered by off-the-shelf video conferencing endpoints."

By tying its cloud-optimised endpoints with partners' cloud solutions, Tely allows users to initiate scheduled calls by simply clicking on room or personal -calendar event , begin ad hoc meetings in a virtual meeting room (VMR) environment, and share content through the Tely Share application. In addition, Tely recently launched the Tely App for mobile devices (iOS and Android) and PC (Windows/Mac), which will give users control over the in-room Tely experience and content sharing.

Furthermore, the Tely 200 camera can cover two to six participants effectively in its field of view, making expensive pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) capabilities redundant. It supports dual screens for video and content, a key feature in contemporary meetings to enable participants to view non verbal cues while the content is shared. Tely Portal is a cloud-based management platform for Tely 200 endpoint installation, configuration, provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, usage reporting, and software update installation. Tely Portal is bundled with Tely 200 and can be managed by the enterprise's own video network operation centre (VNOC). This hosted platform is unique and cost-effective, as similar offerings from traditional vendors require an on-premises management infrastructure.

The average selling price (ASP) per video conferencing endpoint was approximately $4,800 in 2014; Tely's endpoints are available at almost a third of this price but with no dip in the quality of offering. Its cloud-optimised endpoints boast a video resolution of 1080P at 30 frames per second at 1 Mbps for live video, and 1080P at 15 frames per second at 512 Kbps for dual stream content sharing. Additionally, the in-built microphone alone delivers full duplex audio, acoustic echo cancellation, and automatic noise suppression that can eliminate the need for a stand-alone audio conferencing endpoint. As for video bridging, Tely's relationships with best-in-class cloud-video conferencing service providers facilitate seamless connectivity across multiple platforms as well as legacy environment with H.323 and SIP standards.

"Tely's effort to go beyond the core product horizon to make a mandatory cloud-based management tool available adds more value to clients. Such initiatives to promote reliability and control enable Tely to build strong customer relationships," noted Devi Srinivasan. "Additionally, Tely presents customers with free upgrades or significant discounts when it launches new products."

Tely's popularity in the consumer space for its Tely HD Base edition endpoints has aided its brand development in the enterprise segment. The company's strong partnerships with distributors such as Imago ScanScource and Westcon and with resellers such as AVI-SPL, Intercall, Arkadin, Level 3, Connect4Video, Compodium, Vixio, Techsonic, and Atlantic have gone a long way in entrenching it in the EMEA market.

Overall, Tely has greatly enhanced customer loyalty and retention with its focus on maximizing price/performance value in the video conferencing endpoint industry, and Frost & Sullivan is pleased to recognize its leadership position in that regard.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has developed a product to suit the market and client needs. The award lauds the price competitiveness, features, ease of product use, and service effectiveness of the recipient company.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.
