"Coupled with M'KIS' fantastic commitment to the arts, we are poised to offer innovative, relevant and engaging science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs. Our goal for next year is to begin with middle school offerings in engineering, robotics and computer coding. Further work will include the elementary and high school." This exciting statement of intent is a highlight of a comprehensive one-hundred day review and associated recommendations from the M'KIS Head of School, Mr. Trevor Laboksi.

In working with the US Dept. of Education, President Barack Obama has been a great advocate of the this program during his two terms in office; and on March 23, 2015, was quoted as saying, "Science is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world...".

Per completion of an extensive science program review, the Director of Curriculum, Mr. Paul Henderson's recommendations for M'KIS strongly advocate "...that we aim high by upgrading our science program to better prepare our graduates for the next generation of science, technology, engineering, art and math needs (STEAM). M'KIS will increase performance expectations and include exciting new programs. From coding and computer science, to engineering and robotics the future is looking bright!"
