Noah's Ark Hong Kong promotes love and harmony in the community and shows care to the disadvantaged. It strives to create a platform to contribute to society by inviting the disadvantaged to participate in various activities to enrich their knowledge and life experience, as well as bring happiness to all families.

By organizing about 200 exploration activities integrating life education, arts, history and culture, guided tours and adventures, the program aims at allowing people of different sectors, social classes and ethics to appreciate together the strengths of Hong Kong from different perspectives in interesting and meaningful ways. This meaningful program was started by The Noah's Ark Little Doctor on 16 April, during which Chief Secretary for Administration Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor was invited to officiate at the kick-off ceremony with SHKP Executive Director Mr. Adam Kwok.

The officiating guests filled the 'Rainbow Positive Energy Train' with fuel and afterwards, the train went around Hong Kong, symbolizing continuous injection of positive energy into the city. The audience joined the guests to cheer Hong Kong people on.

Mr. Adam Kwok hopes to boost positive energy in society through 200 activities under four categories

SHKP Executive Director Mr. Adam Kwok said, "In the past six years, Noah's Ark has organized various activities such as charity walks, festival celebrations, leadership training camps and birthday parties to share warmth and hope with over 160,000 beneficiaries, including orphans, single parent children, street sleepers, low-income families, the elderly, cancer patients, recovered SARS patients and the disabled.

Last year we launched "The Ark's Little Doctor: Elderly Care Program" to promote inter-generational integration. This year, we are making another effort to bring about more positive energy to society by launching the "Happy Positive Energy: Set Sail from Ma Wan" Program and organizing about 200 inspiring activities under four categories integrating life education, arts, history and culture, guided tours and adventures, in which about 20,000 people from varies sectors of society will be invited to participate and we hope to encourage the public to embrace life with a positive attitude and strengthen the positive energy in society."

Recognition of the Happy Positive Energy Fighters for their Perseverance

At the ceremony, Mrs. Carrie Lam and Mr. Adam Kwok presented the Certificate of Merit to Happy Positive Energy Fighters Ms. Chow Pui Shan and Ms. Ho Yuen Kei, both of whom are Spinal Muscular Atrophy patients, for their perseverance in the face of difficulties.

Although Chow Pui Shan has been in hospital since 11 months old and her right thumb and forefinger are the only body parts below her neck that can move, she persisted in attending school classes every day and studied hard with a simple wish of "going to school like regular students". Typing with two fingers and a typing speed of 5 to 6 words per minute, Chow Pui Shan managed to achieve a score of 21 in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination.

The other Happy Positive Energy Fighter Ho Yuen Kei is a sports lover. She had learnt Boccia since 2008 before she became a Hong Kong team member and won gold medals in the BC4 individual and pairs events in the Tokyo 2009 Asian Youth Para Games with her talents and efforts. Even later her physical strength declined due to changes in her condition, and she had not enough strength to throw the ball, she did not give up.

Ho Yuen Kei faced the challenges with courage and a positive attitude, and continued to be an athlete by playing in the BC3 category. Also, she is currently the 12th-ranked Boccia player in the world. The perseverance of both of them are worth respecting and learning from, and is a source of positive energy for society.
