HONG KONG, Dec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The F&L Asia Awards recognize the exceptional performance of Asia's fuel and lubricant industry pioneers. The 2018 awards will build on the success of last year's event, with category winners formally acknowledged at the F&L Asia Awards Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip, on 8 March 2018. More than 200 industry leaders from throughout the globe are expected to attend the appreciation dinner and award presentations.

F&L Asia Ltd. is pleased to announce that nominations for the "Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year" and "Product Development of the Year" are now open. It is seeking nominations for individuals whose creativity, commitment, and strong leadership has helped them achieve remarkable success within our increasingly unpredictable and highly competitive market.

"Achieving business success can be a tough challenge, and as such we are keen to showcase the dedication, expertise and accomplishments of our industry leaders," says Vicky Villena-Denton, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of F&L Asia, the major industry publisher that hosts F+L Week, the popular industry conference on base oils, lubricants, petroleum additives and transport fuels. "If you know someone who deserves recognition for their contribution to the fuels & lubricants industry then I encourage you to submit a nomination." Nominations close December 31, 2017.

ABOUT F&L ASIA AWARDS

The 2018 F&L Asia Awards include two prestigious categories:

The "Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year" is open to nominees from the oil and additive industries, as well as other stakeholders including OEMs, user industries, regulatory agencies and even non-governmental organizations (OEMs). The award celebrates an individual's outstanding contribution to the Fuels & Lubricants industry in Asia. Trevor Russell, Chief Executive Officer of Infineum, won the inaugural "Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year" in 2017 for his leadership role in expanding the manufacturing and supply capability for additives in the Asia-Pacific region. We look forward to selecting the "Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year" in 2018.

The "Product Development of the Year" recognizes product innovation in the fuels and lubricants industry, in particular, products that have made significant improvements to processes, efficiency and ecological use. Chevron Oronite OLOA® 55516 was commemorated as 2017 "Product Development of the Year", the first lubricant additive package in the industry to be approved for dexos1®:2015 by General Motors (GM). This technology is recommended for GM Factory Fill and Service Fill gasoline engine oil specifications beginning with 2017-2018 model year vehicles.

To qualify for the 2018 award, a product must be launched and available to end-users between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.

In addition to the award ceremony at the Four Seasons Macao, the winners will be featured in F+L Magazine (formerly Fuels & Lubes International), the flagship publication of F&L Asia Ltd., which is available in print and digital format.

Nominations for the 2018 F&L Asia Awards close on December 31, 2017. You may submit your nominations via email at: conference@fuelsandlubes.com.
