Press Statement: Mike Poon gets rectification from French media on untrue report

HONG KONG, June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CASIL Europe is aware of a recent news article in a French media discussing the Chinese investments in French transport and tourism industries. The article accused that Mr. Mike Poon made investment promise concerning Toulouse-Blagnac Airport.

The concerned media report is strictly false and totally groundless. The Company hereby states that, CASIL Europe has already fully paid up the consideration of EUR308m for a 49.99% stake of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport when the deal closed in April 2015. Other than that, CASIL Europe, Friedmann Pacific Asset Management Limited, or any other related parties to Mike Poon have never made any investment promises whatsoever concerning any investment of EUR20m in Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, and that Mike Poon has not fulfilled such promises is far from reality.

In fact, the Supervisory Board of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport has the sole right to vote its investment. While Mr. Mike Poon is not a part of the Supervisory Board, he is not involved in the investment decision-making process, and therefore has no way to have made any promises regarding the airport investment. The Supervisory Board approved the plan of EUR162 million of consolidated investments in the period 2016-2020. Toulouse-Blagnac airport meets this plan multi-year investments and reports on the progress of these investments to the Supervisory Board on a quarterly basis. No additional investment promises have been reported by the Supervisory Board.

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is running well under the professional management team with increased passenger numbers and commercial revenues over the last year.

The erroneous statements undermine the honor and reputation of Mr. Mike POON. Therefore, in accordance with French law, he has demanded a right of reply written to set the record straight and avoid having false information conveyed against him.
