BEIJING, April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Dragon is bringing its well-known venture and tech forum series to Beijing to highlight China's leading venture capitalists and its fastest-rising startups. The founder and investor forum will be held April 28, 5-9pm at DayDayUp, Sanlitun Soho, in Chaoyang District.

The program will assess the future of venture capital and technology innovation in China and which market sectors are capturing investment currently: VR, AI, Big Data, Social Enterprise, Hardware, Mobile and E-Commerce. Top venture capitalists including Hans Tung, managing partner of GGV Capital, and Anna Fang, partner of ZhenFund, will discuss the factors that lead them to invest in which startups: talent, team, technology, business model, capital, profitability, and global/regional impact. They also will talk about the outlook for U.S.-China cross-border deals, M&A and IPOs.

Several founders who were profiled in the recent Forbes Asia issue, 30 under 30, will take the stage to tell how they are getting ahead in today's competitive marketplace with disruptive technologies and business models. Additionally, a book talk by tech futurist Edward Tse examines China's Disruptors who are getting ahead globally with advanced innovations.

The Silicon Dragon Beijing 2016 conference comes at a pivotal time for China's place in technology innovation. A slowdown during the past two quarters has led to more caution in startup investing and lower valuations after a peak in mid-2015 with numerous unicorn financings. Will China cool down the impact global venture investing? Will it impact the scale of Chinese startups? Panelists will discuss these issues.

Now in its fifth year, this annual event is led by Silicon Dragon founder Rebecca Fannin, an expert on global innovation trends, a Forbes contributor, and author of two well-received book about startups -- Silicon Dragon (McGraw-Hill, 2008) and Startup Asia (Wiley, 2011).

The Silicon Dragon conference brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and leaders of the startup ecosystem for discussions on what's next in Asia's emerging tech and venture markets. Participants will gain insights on how to raise financing and develop strategies to succeed in the region and in leading innovation hotspots such as Silicon Valley.
