HONG KONG, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Full cases of DRC Romanee-Conti 1990 & 1988, several vintages from Henri Jayer's legendary Cros Parantoux, great vintages of Petrus (including cases of 2009 in Magnums), bottles of Domaine Armand Rousseau 1996 and the World Premiere of the 65-year-old Macallan in Lalique are among the featured lots at Dragon 8's upcoming wine and whisky auction on June 11th at Hong Kong's Grand Hyatt hotel. Other stellar lots include rare cases of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 1918 and Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1928, as well as a wide selection of Macallan Fine & Rare, 18-year-old Gold Label and treasured Japanese whisky.

"DRC, Jayer, Petrus, Rousseau, Margaux, Leroy, Cheval Blanc, Roumier, Macallan and Karuizawa," says Dragon 8 Founder Gil Lempert-Schwarz. "It doesn't get any better than those names. Unless of course, you want to include an ultra-rare Lafite-Rothschild 1918 and Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1928. We'll have over 200 lots and most of them are collectible slam dunks."

Among the anticipated highlights is the auction World Premiere of the Macallan Lalique VI, one of only 450 made, which combines Macallan's 65-year-old single malt whisky with a specially designed Lalique crystal decanter. "This is the final one in their well-known collaborative series and while others have set auction records, this is the first time the 65 year-old will be at an auction," says Lempert-Schwarz. "It's in mint condition, just released directly from the distillery, looks spectacular, surely tastes even better and comes with a complete presentation case. It's the perfect showpiece for any serious Macallan collector."

Sourcing for this auction has come from several varied and distinct collections, including a major West Coast collection from the United States, a top private Hong Kong based collector and a variety of Dragon 8 friends and supporters. "As our name has become more well-known and trusted, several different consigners are coming forward," says Lempert-Schwarz. Two that really pleased all involved were the reps of this U.S. based collection who contacted us with a selection of beautifully stored wines and the Hong Kong based collector who has a lot more than what we'll be presenting on this day. Look forward to what else we'll bring on the block from this major consignor."

The auction will also feature lots by esteemed American, Italian and French winemakers who make wines for more casual consumers. "Several of these wines have been consigned to us by friends of Dragon 8," says Lempert-Schwarz. "We're talking about names like Dominus from the Napa Valley and Gaja from Italy. They're well received wines that will make this auction approachable to budding wine fans who would like to attend an auction to see what it's all about. We welcome them and for those who can't attend, we'll have a live simulcast HD session on our website."

Successful auction registrants will be offered a full lunch complete with Champagne and Dragon 8's own Noble Russian Ossetra Caviar to set the stage for the auction proper. "It's a fun, casual atmosphere which keeps our regular attendees coming back," says Lempert-Schwarz.
