Good Employers in Vietnam Receives the Prestigious HR Asia Award 2018

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Sept. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On the 14th September 2018, twenty-seven companies have been recognised the Best Companies to Work for in Asia by leading Human Resource publication, HR Asia in an event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In early 2018, following the independent research on outstanding businesses in Vietnam, HR Asia opened its first registration and nomination for some companies in Vietnam to participate in this program. Since March 2018, 130 big and well-established companies in Vietnam have participated in the evaluation of the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for Asia Award in 2018. This year, 3,730 employee-with more than six months of work at the company- responded to the survey, HR Asia measured their workplace satisfaction based on the "Heart, Mind & Soul''. In addition, HR Asia conducted in-depth assessments with executives, human resource managers of the companies to better understand HR policies, recruitment, employment information and strategic points to build a good workplace. HR Asia also conducted 130 interviews with business leaders among 24 industries in Vietnam and continued the independent research and votes by the Judging Panel on the shortlisted nominees.

Good Employers Score Higher

Finally, HR Asia has selected 27 businesses in Vietnam deserving of this prestigious award. The notable winners are Fonterra Brands Vietnam; FrieslandCampina Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank); HEINEKEN Vietnam; LINKBYNET Vietnam; Nestle Vietnam; ON Semiconductor Vietnam; World Cat Vietnam Sourcing & Development Services (PUMA Vietnam);

Their scores are significantly higher than the average of the 130 companies were reviewed and are higher than the average for the Asian region where HR Asia Award opens for nomination. The winner list included international companies such as Fonterra Vietnam, FrieslandCampina Vietnam, HEINEKEN Vietnam, LinkByNet Vietnam, Nestle Vietnam, ONSemi Vietnam, World Cat Vietnam (Puma) and some private companies such as HDBank.

Employees at the companies who receive this prestigious award are satisfied with their workplace in three main areas:

  1. Employees clearly understand their job scope and expectations. (Score 4.55/5);
  2. Meeting or exceeding customer expectation and requirement (Score 4.50/5);
  3. Willingness to recommend the company's products, services to friends and family (Score 4.49/5).

On the other hand, for the total survey of 130 companies in Vietnam, the 3 areas that score the lowest in the survey (i.e. the ones which the employees feel their companies, especially the one that didn't win, can improve on) are:

  1. Employees feel that they do not receive recognition or praise for doing good work in the last month (Score 3.86/5)
  2. Employees feel that they are not involved in the decision-making process (Score 3.87/5)
  3. Employees feel that they do not really know what is going on in the organization (Score 4.03/5)

What Employers Think

More than 94.5% of participating companies feel that evaluating for recognition of Best Companies to Work for in Asia is meaningful and essential to them whether they are recognized or not. Because the results are already pointing towards the strength and developmental fields of the companies, they helps the companies understand clearly about the elements of their working environments. Then there have been timely adjustments in personnel policy as well as activities and programs promote work efficiency and improve the cohesive satisfaction of employees. The HR Asia Awards has brought consistent international standards across Asia for participating businesses to receive rewarding results when they win the award.
