Greenhouse is building a network of business-to-business (B2B) service providers across Southeast Asia, and a technology platform simplifying the initial process of forming a company a startup, or small business.

"I've been doing business in Southeast Asia for nearly eight years and have had incredible struggles to set up companies in markets outside Singapore. We founded Greenhouse to simplify the processes of company formation so that startups can focus on business growth instead of administration," says Drew Calin, CEO of Greenhouse.

Drew continued, "Right now, we're integrating more than forty global, regional, and domestic service providers across Southeast Asia, with many more to come."

According to the International Monetary Fund in 2018, ASEAN boasts the 5th largest economy in the world, but many of its countries still have complex bureaucracies -- especially for businesses.

The World Bank recently released the 2019 version of its Doing Business Index, which gave comparatively low ease of doing business rankings for Southeast Asia's three largest markets -- Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Out of 190 countries, Indonesia ranked 73rd, the Philippines ranked 124th, and Vietnam ranked 69th.

Greenhouse aims to help minimize risks, time, and costs for businesses that want to set up in Southeast Asia. This first version of the marketplace allows users to book incorporation and company secretarial services in Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.

The available services include:

  • Business incorporation
  • Registered business address
  • Immigration services
  • Setting up bank accounts
  • Corporate secretarial

Besides users, the Greenhouse ecosystem also aims to support its service providers. Viktor Kyosev, COO of Greenhouse, stated, "We're effectively bringing them confirmed customers, which means we're decreasing their sales cycle and customer acquisition costs."

Viktor continued, "This allows us to negotiate better service agreements and discounts, which means our customers don't pay any added fees for our service or platform. In fact, they pay less when booking with Greenhouse compared to booking the service providers directly."

Greenhouse is also collaborating with a variety of partners across the region to better serve the needs of their respective ecosystems through integrated services and consulting. These include incubators, accelerators, universities, business associations, embassies, and government bodies.

The process of how Greenhouse maps users to service providers is as follows:

  1. The user reviews and selects their preferred service provider option available on the marketplace at greenhouse.co.
  2. The user gets a consultation from Greenhouse to assess the best service options for their needs, timelines, and target markets, following local requirements.
  3. The user selects the most suitable vendor and pricing based on their needs and budget.
  4. Greenhouse connects the user to their chosen vendor to confirm requirements.
  5. Greenhouse delivers the final service and price agreement for the user for review and begins project delivery.

Drew continued, "We live and work in an increasingly global economy, and we want to help businesses use these opportunities by minimizing risks and costs. As our platform grows, we'll add in new markets, new services, and continue to create value for all parties involved."

By the end of 2019, Greenhouse plans to expand its offerings across all markets in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
