"Germany must continue to expand its leading position as a location for technological innovation," said Fubi, "We want to create trust and security for the digital world! The VdTUV is therefore committed to a digital security architecture." Digitally networked systems and the use of artificial intelligence are massively changing the security structures in the classic fields of action of the VdTUV. "Society must continue to be able to rely on the safety of vehicles, industrial plants and consumer products," said Fubi, adding that "in future there will also have to be digital TUV tests, for example for algorithms".

The general meeting acknowledged the merits of the outgoing VdTUV chairman Axel Stepken. It was said that he had set the association's course for the future. "I am very pleased that we were able to modernise the association's work and attract highly competent and highly motivated new staff," said Stepken. "The VdTUV is now excellently positioned to meet the challenges of innovative technologies."
