World Trade United Foundation Granted Consultative Status by UN

HONG KONG, Aug. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, the United Nations has informed World Trade United Foundation (WTUF) whose consultative status had been granted by the decision of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

WTUF is an organization established in Hong Kong SAR of China in 2001. With a vision of "A World with Freedom, Equality, Creativity, Innovation, and Development of Win-Win situations", WTUF is dedicated to "optimize the international trade environment and to build bridges across the world for corporations" with "social responsibility and philanthropic services".

As a consultative organization at UN, WTUF could actively engage with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with UN Secretariat and other entities in several ways. A consultative organization could designate representatives to the UN headquarters in New York, UN offices in Geneva and Vienna to participate in events, meetings and activities, and to sit as an observer at public meetings of the Economic and Social Council and the Human Rights Council, under certain conditions, UN General Assembly and other intergovernmental bodies. In addition, a consultative organization could submit written reports in its specific areas, which may be circulated to the 54 member states through the Secretary-General of UN.

In 2001, WTUF emerged and gradually established a global partnership network to promote trade cooperation among regions. As a result of 18-year works on social benefit and charity in the international community, WTUF successfully build a communication platform that catalyzes a good environment for international trade. 

Furthermore, WTUF has set up subsidiary bodies such as Global Water Sustainable Development Fund to focus on particular works for the 17 SDGs.
