
HONG KONG, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) today announces that the appointment of Mr Roy Ying as the new Head of Communications of RICS Asia effective 1st September 2010.
Prior to joining the RICS, Roy was the General Manager of Chamber Services Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary specialised in offering PR and event management services under the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), and subsequently running his own PR consulting business. Between 2006 and 2009, he was appointed to serve on Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)'s Fair Organising Committee as an ex-official member representing the HKGCC. Roy has also accumulated extensive mainland China's experiences from his posting assignments in HKTDC's Beijing and Shanghai offices responsible for building government relations and organising regional scale conferences. He was later recruited by Mission Hills Golf Club as the Assistant Director in charge of PR and external affairs stationed at its clubhouse.
He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada, and was recruited by Jardine Matheson as a management trainee in 1994. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Corporate Governance and Directorship at the Hong Kong Baptist University. He is also a visiting lecturer for the Institute of Professional Knowledge and Education (a member of VTC Group) in exhibitions and event management, and a regular guest speaker for the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing.
