As Asia's leading exhibition organiser, UBM Asia is not only dedicated to developing trade exhibitions and promoting international trade, but also takes an active role in community services, such as charity, donation, rehabilitation, environmental protection and volunteering activities. Since collaborating with the Institute in November last year, UBM Asia invited outstanding students to visit its September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, the world's largest jewellery fair and provided students with internship opportunities at its jewellery fairs to facilitate both the teaching staff and the students to have a more comprehensive understanding on the jewellery industry and get practical experience in the field. UBM Asia also offered a special incentive programme which fully funded three award winning students in international and national jewellery competitions to visit the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. UBM Asia management representatives and industry professionals also give talks and lectures at the Jewelry Institute to share their experience and market information with the students.

"UBM Asia has a global portfolio of 20 jewellery events. We aim to serve and we value professional development. We hope to encourage students to explore and take the initiative in serving the community, learn more about the market needs and be better prepared through this school-enterprise collaboration," said Mr Wolfram Diener, Senior Vice President of UBM Asia.

Mr Zhang Lianxu, President of Guangzhou Panyu Polytechnic, appraised the success achieved in last year: "the school-enterprise collaboration between UBM Asia and the Jewelry Institute is gradually deepening and expanding. We do hope the close cooperation in professional education and development would bring valuable prospect and become a remarkable school-enterprise collaboration."
