HONG KONG, May 14 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- 3M Hong Kong donated 120,000 3M(TM) N95 Particulate Respirators shipped to the Sichuan earthquake disaster area for local rescue work by the help of 3M China. In the meantime, 3M Hong Kong is contacting local charity organizations to donate even more rescue materials to support the rescue. The respirators will provide reliable and effective protection and support for the frontline rescue team.
The earthquake has caused nearly ten thousand deaths and injured thousands. The injured are located in 16 areas, including Sichuan, Gansu, Chongqing, and Yunnan. The earthquake caused innumerable houses to collapse, disrupted the electric power grid and the drinking water supply, and blocked communications by damaging communication facilities.
Being a social responsible company, 3M Hong Kong hopes that the donation of the respirators will assist the disaster victims as they work to pull through this horrific tragedy.
In 2003, 3M Hong Kong have donated over 200,000 3M(TM) N95 Particulate Respirators to Hong Kong SAR Government to fight against the SARS epidemic.
