4ipnet Releases AC1750 Dual Band Access Points EAP760 and EAP767 for High Performance WLAN Solutions

2014-07-29 20:00 1963

TAIPEI, July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- 4ipnet, a leading provider of competitive and comprehensive wireless LAN solutions for meeting the Wi-Fi demands of tomorrow, today announced the launch of its newest indoor 802.11ac access points, the EAP760 and the EAP767. With data rates up to 1.3 Gbps in 5 GHz, advanced enterprise-grade functionality, and an attractive price point, the two access points will help organizations meet the requirements of most next-generation deployment scenarios. When combined with the complete package of user authentication, policy enforcement, and centralized management features on 4ipnet's WHG-series WLAN controllers, the Wi-Fi needs of hotels, universities, and enterprises can easily be fulfilled.

The primary difference between the EAP760 and EAP767 is that the EAP760 comes with external antennas, while the EAP767 contains internal antennas - users can select a model depending on individual aesthetic or coverage requirements. In addition, unique on the EAP760 is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) downlink that can allow the AP to supply power to other IP-based devices. For example, network operators can easily deploy an IP camera adjacent to the EAP760 without any additional cabling.

In terms of similarities, both models support the newest 802.11ac technology and feature two radios that can operate in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands respectively. Three spatial streams enables rates up to 450 Mbps in 2.4 GHz and 1.3 Gbps in 5 GHz, allowing true wire-like performance to be realized. The increased throughput also helps alleviate network congestion by shortening the average airtime of each client, which in return increases network capacity. Finally, both models support 802.3at PoE, eliminating the need for traditional power sources during deployment.

Although 11ac is largely about the increased data rates, there is much more to the EAP760 and EAP767 than just transmission speed. Through wireless QoS, airtime fairness, band steering, and multicast to unicast conversion, the APs are able to multiply the benefits brought by 11ac and further enhance wireless performance. In addition, the APs can provide enterprise-grade security through features such as 802.1X authentication, layer 2 firewall, and station isolation. With the EAP760 and EAP767, network operators can offer a high performance and secure wireless environment, reducing customer complaints and eliminating security risks. Lastly, when deployed alongside 4ipnet WHG controllers, administrators can configure load balancing and seamless roaming, and perform centralized management of all APs. All aspects considered, enterprises and organizations will find that 4ipnet's solution addresses their wireless LAN needs at a much more affordable price point, maximizing return on investment.
