600 Extra Tickets Added to the Backstreet Boys Show in Malaysia

Tickets to the show sold out within 5 days of its launch last month. Additional CAT 2 and CAT 5 tickets are available for purchase exclusively for Friends of Livescape

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Livescape Group, organisers of the Backstreet Boys' "In A World Like This" tour live in Malaysia has confirmed that an additional 600 tickets will be added to the show. Earlier tickets were snapped up within 5 days of its sales launch last month. Priority for these limited CAT 2 and CAT 5 tickets, will be given to fans who have been on the waiting list since the show sold out on 6 February. The remainder of the tickets will be available for purchase for customers on The Livescape Group's database. Invitations to purchase these tickets will be sent out via email.

When the tickets to the show went on sale, the discounted early bird tickets sold out within five minutes and limited Release 1 tickets followed next within 10 minutes. The rest of the normal priced tickets sold out within five days. The organizers, The Livescape Group, has also confirmed that they will not be adding a second show or moving to a bigger venue for this sellout show.

"It's amazing that the show sold out within 5 days. This is testament to the Backstreet Boys' popularity and huge following in Malaysia. We have managed to open up more seats to be sold for the show so, hopefully this will give fans who missed out on getting tickets the first time around, a chance to see them live. Unfortunately, we won't be able to move the show to a bigger venue nor will we add another show to this leg of their tour due to their tight schedules. To the fans who managed to get tickets to the show, thank you for coming out in numbers to support the guys and we can't wait to see you all on May 3," Rahul Kukreja, Director of Live Events of The Livescape Group said.

The five piece American pop vocal group consists of members A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell. The band shot to fame with their self-titled debut album, Backstreet Boys in 1996. Following the success of their first album, the Backstreet Boys released their second international album Backstreet's Back in 1997. The then teenage heartthrobs rose to even greater heights and superstardom with their third album Millennium in 1999 and a fourth album, Black and Blue in 2000 as a follow up album to Millennium. They've sold over 130,000 million records worldwide, making them the best selling boy band in the world.

The group took a two-year break before releasing a comeback album Never Gone in 2005. After successfully completing their Never Gone Tour in 2006, band member Kevin Richardson, left the group to pursue a solo career in singing, modelling, and acting. Nevertheless, the Backstreet Boys continued promotions as a four piece vocal group and released two albums, Unbreakable in 2007 and This Is Us in 2009. In 2012, the group made fans worldwide happy when they announced that Richardson had rejoined the Backstreet Boys permanently. In 2013, the band celebrated their 20th anniversary by releasing their first independent album, In A World Like This.

The Backstreet Boys "In A World Like This" Tour in Malaysia will take place at Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur on May 3.  The additional Cat 2 tickets are priced at RM428 and Cat 5 tickets at RM208 excluding RM3 ticketing fee.
