75% Lower Current Drain Gives Multimedia-Rich Handsets More Talk, Data Time

WARREN, N.J., June 13 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD) today announced that its new ZeroIC(TM) power amplifiers (PAs) are compatible with 3G reference designs based on the RTR6500(TM) and second-generation QSC(TM) family of single-chip solution products from QUALCOMM.

ANADIGICS ZeroIC(TM) products deliver best-in-class operating time by cutting overall battery power requirements by more than 75%, as compared to competitors' two-stage amplifiers. They are designed to work with the QUALCOMM RTR6500(TM) transceiver, and with second-generation QUALCOMM Single-Chip(TM) (QSC(TM)) solutions which integrate the CDMA2000 1X radio transceiver, baseband modem, power management, and multimedia engines into a single chip.

"We are proud that our new ZeroIC(TM) CDMA power amplifiers are compatible with the latest reference designs from a world leader in 3G solutions," said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Wireless Products at ANADIGICS, Inc. "Their best-in-class operating time and small form factor mean subscribers can get the full benefit of 3G services with fewer battery recharges."

ANADIGICS ZeroIC(TM) product family includes products for popular frequency bands used worldwide, including;

* AWT6331 for 800MHz (US cellular, bandclass 0)

* AWT6332 for 1900MHz Band (PCS, bandclasses 1 and 14)

* AWT6334 for 900MHz (Japan cellular, bandclass 3)

* AWT6335 for 2100MHz (IMT, bandclass 6)

* AWT6336 for 1700MHz (AWS, bandclass 15)

In addition to their dramatic reduction in current consumption, ANADIGICS ZeroIC(TM) products boast a 3.0 X 3.0 X 1.0 mm profile that makes them ideal for today's thin handsets. ZeroIC(TM) products also integrate an internal voltage regulator to further reduce space and BOM cost. ZeroIC(TM) products utilize ANADIGICS patented InGaP-Plus(TM) technology, an innovative semiconductor process that allows designers to integrate previously separate circuit elements on a single die.
