A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. to Attend the Solar Power International Conference in Anaheim, California on October 27th-29th, 2009

SHENYANG, China, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (Nasdaq: APWR) ("A-Power" or “the Company”), a leading provider of distributed power generation systems in China and a fast-growing manufacturer of wind turbines, today announced that it will attend the Solar Power International Conference (SPI), which will take place on October 27-29, 2009, at the convention center in Anaheim, California.

Mr. Jinxiang Lu, A-Power’s Chairman and CEO, Mr. John Lin, its COO and director, and Mr. Eiji Ino, President of the Japanese thin-film photovoltaic cell maker EVATECH Co., Ltd. (“EVATECH”) will attend the SPI and also hold one-on-one investor meetings at the conference.

In September of this year, A-Power signed an agreement to acquire 100% of EVATECH. The closing of the acquisition, expected to occur later this year, is subject to EVATECH’s rehabilitation process in the courts of Japan related to the EVATECH’s corporate and debt restructuring.
