Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. Names Andrew Chen as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

SHANGHAI and SAN FRANCISCO, October 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. (AMEC) today appointed Andrew Chen as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). An accomplished international finance and accounting executive, Chen has extensive operational experience as a CFO with diverse multinational corporations. At AMEC, he'll drive budgeting, treasury, risk-management, internal audits, compliance and investor relations. He reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Chen joins AMEC from Nasdaq-listed Canadian Solar, Inc., one of the world's largest solar companies. He served as CFO. This followed tenures at other marquee corporations where he steadily broadened his finance responsibilities. At Coca-Cola Co., he was an International Financial Analyst before moving to Honeywell International as a Corporate Auditor. Later, he assumed the role of Financial Controller at Honeywell's China engines operation. In China, he held CFO positions at Nepstar Drug Stores, Inc. and Sheng Da Technology, Inc., as well as YRC Worldwide China Operations. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

"Andrew is an excellent choice to lead AMEC's finance function," said CEO Gerald Yin. "He's a skilled business strategist with a record of implementing risk-management and budgeting protocols that improved internal controls and reinforced transparency in complex finance organizations. His global financial fluency will be an important asset as we continue to grow. We're pleased he's joining the team."

"AMEC presents an exciting career opportunity for me," said Chen. "It has the essentials needed to execute on its global vision: Advanced technology, healthy customer traction, high-growth market opportunities, a distinguished team and a smart business strategy. I'm looking forward to strengthening the finance organization as the company continues to internationalize its operations."

Yin added, "Andrew joins AMEC at a time of growth. We're broadening our product portfolio and extending our reach into new markets. Just last week we boosted our family of advanced etch products by adding two new tools. This momentum continues to attract the high-caliber technologists and engineers, as well as operations and sales experts that we're fortunate to have on our team."

Chen earned Master's degrees in Accountancy and Business Administration from the University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xiamen University, China. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the US.
