SHANGHAI, Jan. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 21, Air Liquide China was presented with "2015 Responsible Brand Award" at the 5th China Charity Festival in Beijing. For the first time, Air Liquide China won an award at the annual event, which recognizes the company's contributions to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Co-organized by over 30 Chinese media, including China News Agency and China Daily, China Charity Festival is dedicated to promoting charitable spirit and deeds. It selects candidate companies and their projects among all self-applications and third-party recommendations, and evaluates their projects' social benefits through various indicators, such as their credibility, creativity, adaptability and sustainability.

Responsibility is at the core of Air Liquide's business. The company advocates environmental-friendly mindset not only through innovative products and solutions, but also CSR initiatives. In as early as 2009, it started "Green Action" in China, a company-wide annual tree planting activity, aiming to raise environmental protection awareness among employees. In 2015, a total of 604 employees and their family members from 37 sites in 29 cities participated in the campaign. In addition, since 2012, Air Liquide China has been donating its refurbished computers to primary schools in rural areas in China to ensure local students' access to computers and to promote electronics equipment recycling. So far, the company has donated a total of 223 computers and set up six "Air Liquide Computer Classrooms" in five provinces across the country.

Marcelo Fioranelli, Vice President, Greater China, Air Liquide Group, commented: "We're honored to receive the award, which is another acknowledgement of our efforts to support the local community. As a company pursuing sustainable growth, Air Liquide China will continue to actively commit itself to developing local economies, and contributing to create value over the long term."
