Enables Creation of new Services and Revenue Streams; Reduces Capex/Opex

BOSTON, Mass., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Allot Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALLT), a leader in IP service optimization and revenue generation solutions based on deep packet inspection (DPI), announced today the launch of the Allot Service Gateway Sigma (SG-Sigma). With 40 Gbps of throughput and fully attuned to 3G and 4G/LTE networks, the SG-Sigma is designed to enable network operators to generate additional revenue streams and increase subscriber Quality of Experience (QoE). Marking the next milestone in the evolution of the Service Gateway platform, the SG-Sigma will be unveiled for the first time during GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 16-19 February, hall 2.1, booth D82.

The SG-Sigma is in a class of its own: the only DPI-based Service Gateway platform designed specifically for mobile and next generation networks. It facilitates the fast introduction of new value added services (VAS) for networks and subscribers, such as URL filtering and network security, as well as tiered and quota based services. The SG-Sigma's unique "topology and service aware" technology is designed to solve mobile broadband traffic management and backhaul congestion issues -- enabling operators to decrease operating expenses while increasing QoE to subscribers. Allot provides DPI-based policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) compliant with 3G, 4G/LTE and WiMax networks.

"As next generation network rollouts materialize, network operators have a responsibility to assure a high quality of experience for their users while managing their own growing network operating costs," said David Vorhaus, senior analyst at The Yankee Group. "By deploying a DPI-based, open platform, service control solution with high throughput and flexibility, operators position themselves to drive new revenue while assuring the proper levels of network management and security that broadband subscribers demand."

The SG-Sigma's modular and flexible carrier-class architecture enables "pay as you grow" deployments, allowing network operators to add throughput, subscribers and services as and when needed -- reducing the initial deployment outlay. With the introduction of SG-Sigma, Allot deployments can scale up to 30 million mobile broadband subscribers.

"Allot's leadership and expertise in mobile broadband is based on our considerable experience in the market and our sizable installed base, including the five Tier 1 mobile operators that we signed in 2008 alone," commented Rami Hadar, Allot's CEO and President. "The SG-Sigma is the result of Allot's dedication to working with customers in order to provide solutions to real issues, and is tangible proof of our commitment to mobile broadband. This system enables network operators to take hold of the future of network intelligence with new, tiered services and revenue streams backed by a platform that can handle today's demanding subscribers and applications."

SG-Sigma is built to AdvancedTCA(R) standards and is ready for customer trials.
