HONG KONG, Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Telecom and finance leaders are meeting to discuss the latest broadband investment strategies for Asian markets at the 4th annual TMT Finance & Investment Asia conference (www.tmtfinance.com/asia) at the JW Marriott Hong Kong on February 6, 2013.

Investing in next generation broadband infrastructure and services will drive government and financing agendas across Asia in 2013, say experts, and forms an important part of the agenda at the conference this year.

"Increased access to broadband internet has become a clear economic objective for governments in many parts of Asia, driving policy-making and the development of national broadband plans," said Malcolm Webb, Partner, Webb Henderson, a leading international law firm, who will make a keynote speech entitled "International developments in next generation broadband investment and regulation".

The presentation will examine policy contexts in different parts of Asia and the ways that governments are responding to the challenge of promoting broadband access as well as highlighting trends in broadband policy and investment in Australasia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Latin America.

Lim Chuan Wei, Partner, Analysys Mason, a  global telecom consultancy, will also highlight market demand trends and implications for investment and financing, and chair the panel debate: "Broadband for the next decade - investing in fixed and mobile networks", which forms one of six leadership panel sessions at the conference.

"The telecom industry has entered a critical phase for investing into the next stage of high speed broadband infrastructure and technology to meet the continuing surge of demand for data," said Lim Chuan Wei. "The panel provides an excellent opportunity to assess investment strategies across Asia with an influential international audience of senior industry and finance executives."
