ITMC 2009 was sponsored by the China Center for information Industry Development (CCID) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and organized by CCID Consulting Co., Ltd. under the theme "Turning Point.Confidence.Green Development". More than 1,600 participants including government officials, celebrated scholars, business executives, IT users, investment experts, and media professionals gathered at the event and discussed the present situation of the industry, while exploring development approaches, and ways to promote the harmonious development of China’s IT industry.

At the event, CCID Consulting delivered two keynote speeches, elaborating on the present situation of China’s overall IT market, and key market segments including consumer IT and industry IT, and looking into the development trend of China’s IT market. Meanwhile, it released a total of 305 reports on China’s industries and markets for 2008-2009, which fully showcases its profound understanding of China’s IT market and related industries. Through professional and accurate data, CCID Consulting described the present situation and development trend of China’s IT industry and market, and put forward relevant development strategy and recommendations. Delegates from Fujitsu, UFIDA, Microsoft, Inspur, Neusoft, Great Wall, Sybase, Unisplendour, and Kehua expounded on application and innovation in various fields of the IT industry from various angles, and introduced a host of application solutions.

Huang Weiping, an official of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and professor of the Business School of the Renmin University of China, experts with CCID Consulting, and delegates from Fujitsu, UFIDA, Microsoft, Neusoft, and Great Wall delivered speeches, probing the development trend of China’s IT market and strategy. Delegates shared their viewpoints on policy environment, industry trend, technology convergence, and green development, providing reference for domestic and overseas IT enterprises to formulate development strategy.

In 2008, China’s IT market continued to grow, but rising costs and falling demand resulted in a slowdown. In 2009, as economic powers in Europe and North America slid into recession, China’s IT industry faces the austere test of sluggish foreign demand. At this crucial moment, the Chinese Government introduced a series of major macro policies, which have boosted confidence in the industry and helped the industry to look up. The strategy of informatization and industrialization convergence catalyzes new demand and engenders new market opportunities. The Chinese Government’s 4-trillion-yuan investment in infrastructure, its ten measures to promote economic growth, and the plan for revitalizing the information industry will push growth of IT application in major sectors, such as government, transportation, energy, banking and manufacturing. Green development becomes an important approach to achieve sustainable development of the industry and a reliable alterative for IT enterprises to meet challenges and achieve transformation and improvement. It is instrumental to spur market for green products and services such as computers, software and communication. Challenges coexist with opportunities, and difficulties coexist with hopes. In 2009, China’s IT industry will face a new round of profound reform.

As the premier gathering in China’s IT industry, IT Market China is an ideal platform for the government, enterprises, users, scholars, researchers and investment institutions to communicate and exchange ideas. It provides strong support for domestic and overseas IT enterprises to seek partners and explore future development strategy. In addition, the event effectively boosts benign interaction between links of specific fields in the IT industry and links of industry segments. It helps promote discussion over the green development of China’s IT industry, giving a strong impetus to the healthy and sustainable development of China’s IT industry and market.
