CCL Launches New State-of-the-art Training Facilities in Science Park

SINGAPORE, April 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ --The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®), a top-ranked international institution for leadership education, today announces the launch of its new training facilities in Singapore. CCL is investing over three million Singaporean dollars in the new campus which comprises training areas fitted with high-tech audio-visual, theatrical and lighting equipment for an enhanced training experience and breakout rooms to cater to small group discussions and one-to-one coaching sessions. The campus also doubles up as CCL's Asia-Pacific headquarters.

The new campus is the first of various growth initiatives CCL has planned for Singapore in 2011, in a bid to better deliver its leadership programs to customers in the nation and the region. Currently CCL APAC serves over 1,000 leaders annually and the Center anticipates this number to grow threefold by 2015.

The Center will be launching its world-renowned Leadership at the Peak program in Singapore early next year. Targeted at senior executives in the Asia-Pacific region, the program delves into the specific and complex challenges of leading at the top. Top executives from EDB, Bharti Airtel, Coach and Westpac Banking Corporation, are some of the members who have attended the program back in the U.S. The Center is also launching a research study on C-Suite leadership in Asia Pacific, to help develop the senior executive development in the region.

Sureish D. Nathan, Vice President of CCL's Asia-Pacific operations said, "CCL is committed to continued innovation and investment in Singapore -- with our increasing business growth in the region, this facility is a significant starting point to support our dual strategy to position our Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Singapore as both a gateway to the region as well as a destination for our clients to conduct their regional programs. Singapore is very important to us because it is our mission control centre, facilitating our growth in the region. We have collaborations with and support from organisations here such as the Singapore Economic Development Board which have been invaluable in shaping our perspectives on leadership in Asia. This perspective, combined with our long-standing Western heritage, gives CCL our unique East-meets-West value proposition for Asia leaders."

"Asian leaders face an array of remarkably complex challenges that do not yield to easy fixes or standard approaches; the recent earthquake in New Zealand and nuclear plant crisis in Japan are just two examples of the need for well-developed leaders," CCL President and CEO John Ryan said. "This new facility will help us better equip Asian leaders to thrive in complex times. Just as significantly, it will help CCL learn valuable leadership lessons from this dynamic region that can be shared with the rest of the world."

Dr. Beh Swan Gin, Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) said, "Singapore seeks to be the Home for Talent (H4T) that develops and provides solutions for companies' human capital needs in talent development and management. The Centre for Creative Leadership is well known globally for its research as well as in developing a suite of leadership development programs, and CCL's new campus and Leadership at the Peak program will help complement our nation's talent development efforts."

Singapore is CCL's first-ever Asian campus, first opened in February 2004. Since its opening, the Center has trained leaders from multinational organisations, regional companies and government agencies in Singapore such as AS Watson, AXA, Barclays, Bharti Airtel, CIMB, Essilor, Pfizer, SPX Corporation and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency. The Singapore campus also comprises a research unit, a collaborative effort with EDB, which focuses on conducting studies in the region for a better understanding of how leadership is approached here. Elsewhere in Asia, the Center has plans to set up new facilities in New Delhi, India and Shanghai, China.
