HARBIN, China, Oct. 4 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Chang-On International Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CAON) (“CAON” or “the Company”), a company engaged in the business of waste recycling and reutilization, announced today that hundreds of science and technology workers, as well as scientist-turned-entrepreneurs, recently began talks to discuss issues such as energy saving and environmental protection in Wuhan city, Hubei Province, at the annual CAST conference. Scientific and technological achievements are fundamental ways to advance adjustment of industrial structure and break through the bottleneck caused by resources and the environment, and this event showed the great determination of China’s efforts in environmental protection and recycling economy. China’s government will focus more on the fundamental research and give more financial support to relative enterprises.

Among these science and technology workers were more than 100 members from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), the highest palaces for scientific research achievements and engineering progress in China. Han Qide, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) said resources and environmental factors had become two prominent problems hampering social and economic development in China and hoped scientific and technological workers would discuss and find out efficient ways for promoting a harmony of the society, and construction of a resource efficient and environment-friendly society at the seven-day conference.

This year’s CAST conference, heralded as a congress for the science and technology community, features a theme of “Energy Saving and Environmental Protection, Harmonious Development.” It is the eighth of its kind held every year since 1999.

Mr. Li Guomin, the President of CAON, said, “It shows that Chinese government is paying more and more attention in environmental protection and recycling economy fields, and not only the financial support but the fundamental technology research. It is a chance for the relative enterprises to see rapid development. We will stand on a high level and offer high quality products and services to our clients and keep hold of our advantages and keep on the input in technology innovation.”

CAON’s business concentrates on using waste plastic and coal ash to develop the product into SF synthetic materials.
