BEIJING, May 16 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Coinciding with the World Telecom Day, ChinaCache, the leading content distribution network (CDN) service provider in China, today announced that the total capacity of its nationwide CDN network reached 200Gbps at the end of April. This marks yet another historical milestone in the development of ChinaCache’s CDN network and further demonstrates its capability in network construction.
Through its network development experience in the past seven years, ChinaCache has established an effective network construction process to ensure high efficiency in network load balance, node and equipment selections, node testing and maintenance. The new network capacity will enable ChinaCache to better serve more than 150 of its blue-chip customers with sufficient bandwidth and enhanced service quality. The network now can effectively meet customer demands for rich media applications such as upload and download of music, games, pictures, videos, large file transfer and online storage.
ChinaCache has adopted a very aggressive strategy with its CDN network expansion beginning in 2006. The total network capacity reached 100 Gbps at the end of 2006. The first four months of 2007 have witnessed rapid network expansion of ChinaCache with its network capacity doubled to 200 Gbps. In the meantime, ChinaCache closed B series of its private equity placement, raising $31.5 millions to be invested in network expansion and technology innovations
