The Awards ceremony was held Sept. 2 in conjunction with the 19th IIC-China (IIC-China Conference & Exhibition), which is running until Sept. 5 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

Throughout his remarkable career, Dr. Wei has developed many successful chips and now serves as the General Director of China Semiconductor Industry Association IC Design Branch. In this position, Dr. Wei actively promotes communications between the local semiconductor industry and other organizations and peers around the world, and works closely with the China government in crafting policies that advance the industry. His ongoing teaching career continues to contribute outstanding talent to the industry.

Recognition for the industry's best
Multinationals also took center stage at the awards ceremony for their innovative products and solutions. Texas Instruments was voted Company of the Year. Intel, Taiwan Semiconductor and ON Semiconductor won Most Promising Technology of the Year in the Internet of Things (IoT), Environmental and Life-saving categories, respectively, while China's Vimicro was awarded Start-up Technology of the Year for its SoC design. Winners of these Company Awards were determined through public online voting, from a shortlist of finalists chosen by the judging panel.
Winners of Product of the Year Awards include ADI, Broadcom, Infineon, Keysight, Linear Technology, Maxim Integrated, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics, TE Connectivity and Texas Instruments. They were also selected through public online voting, while the Editors' Choice Awards were chosen by a panel of senior industry analysts from EE Times-China, ESM-China and EDN-China.
Innovator of the Year, an Editor's Choice Award, went to Gu Jing, Technical Director of Yunyinggu Technology. Through Gu's leadership, Yunyinggu's R&D team was able to develop a new generation of sub-pixel rendering technology that significantly improves screen resolution and maintains high color saturation, low power consumption and low cost, without changing existing production structure and processes.
