(Pink Sheets: CDPN) (“CDPN”), a GPS and wireless application software services provider in transportation industry through its operating subsidiary, General Link Information System Co. Ltd (“General Link”), today announced that it received the final confirmation by Jiangsu Administration of Transportation about an R&D project concerning “Jiangsu Public Platform and Management System for Transportation Satellite Positioning” at the end of June 2007. This project will investigate in the requirements of Jiangsu provincial road transportation satellite positioning system, establish the system standards, and boost in-depth application of the system in the transportation system in Jiangsu. Once the project finished, CDPN will be recommended by the local government as the transportation satellite positioning system service provider in Jiangsu province.
The Bureau of Transportation Management, Information Center of Jiangsu Administration of Transportation and Southeast University are invited to be the cooperative partners to participate in the project. They plan to finish the investigation and standard establishment for it before November 2007, and complete implementation and application of the system in Jiangsu province by the end of the year. Jiangsu province currently has more than 500,000 vehicles registered, and its transportation market volume and the vehicles’ growth rate ranks top in China.
According to “The Guide on Strengthening & Standardizing Implementation of Satellite Positioning Applications & Systems in Road & Waterway Transport” issued by the Ministry of Communications, the government has to create better conditions to implement a uniform public platform and service system for satellite positioning systems, and progressively advance the work according to the requirements of transportation management, in order to eliminate repeated implementation and promote resources sharing. Jiangsu Administration of Transportation has actively responded to the guiding suggestions by standardizing implementation of the provincial satellite positioning system, encouraging transportation businesses to apply and popularize the satellite positioning system.
