(NYSE: NPD) ("Nepstar" or the "Company"), a leading retail drugstore chain in China based on the number of directly operated stores, today announced that its board of directors (the "Board") has formed a special committee consisting of three independent directors (the "Special Committee"), Mr. Barry J. Buttifant, Mr. Alistair Eric MacCallum Laband and Mr. Alan Au, to consider the previously announced preliminary non-binding "going private" proposal letter that the Board received on July 6, 2015. Mr. Barry J. Buttifant will chair the Special Committee. The Special Committee intends to retain independent legal and financial advisors to assist it in this process.
