CoreNet Global Announces Appointment of Betty Chan as Asia Strategic Events Manager

ATLANTA, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- CoreNet Global today announced the appointment of Betty Chan as Asia Strategic Events Manager.

"Ms. Chan's extensive experience of nearly 20 years in event management, marketing, communications and PR, will be a tremendous asset to the region," said CoreNet Global EMEA and Asia Pacific VP of Operations, Melanie Hill.

Chan was formerly the Senior Manager for Marketing Services for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) division of the Hong Kong Tourism Board where her responsibilities included developing and implementing strategies to improve Hong Kong's position as a major global meetings destination.

Previously, she was Marketing Manager, southern China and Hong Kong for the Singapore Tourism Board. Chan graduated with a Master of Arts in Hospitality Management from the University of Birmingham, UK, a Masters of Arts in Public Relations from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, and a Bachelor's in Social Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

"As part of our overall commitment for increased growth and participation in the region, Ms. Chan will take responsibility for managing all regional events, including our Global Summits and Learning seminars," said Hill. "In addition, she will be the key relationship manager for the Mainland China and HK SAR Chapters of CoreNet."

Chan will join CoreNet Global's newly appointed Asia Pacific Learning Director John Gilleard at the region's Hong Kong offices beginning 1 February.
