SHANGHAI, Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fortune Magazine recently selected Ctrip's CEO Jane Sun as one of the top 50 businesswomen leaders in the world in their "Most Powerful Women International" list. This is the 17th year Fortune has been ranking the Most Powerful Women in business list. The selection criteria factors in business scale, operational quality, and workforce size, internal control and external influence of women-run companies.

In 2005 Ms. Sun joined Ctrip as CFO, and has expanded her role to be the company's COO, Co-president and now CEO. "In November, Ms. Sun was appointed CEO at Ctrip, a China-based travel services company with a market cap of more than $27 billion. The company, which is China's biggest online travel site, is growing fast," Fortune stated when citing the reasons for picking Ms. Sun as the winner.
Over the past 12 years, Jane help drove Ctrip's growth into not only China's leading online travel agency but now the number two online travel agency globally. Under her leadership, Ctrip has made a series of domestic and overseas investments, expanded its business into multiple travel related verticals, and set up a one-stop travel service allows its customers to access every corner of the five continents worldwide.
Today Ctrip is the benchmark for China's tourism and service industry whilst striving to promote globalization. Ms. Sun also has been active in many recent political and diplomatic events. This past June, she attended the 12th EU-China Business Summit in Europe along with Premier Li Keqiang. At the Xiamen BRICS Business Forum, Ms. Sun was the only representative from the tourism industry.

The 50 women on this year's Fortune list came from various industries across 17 countries. 14 of them are Chinese, including Ctrip CEO Jane Sun, Gree Chair Dong Mingzhu, Huawei Chair Sun Yafang, and Alibaba CFO Wu Wei to name a few.
